This is helpful when you are in a pinch but you pay for the convenience. To go food is disappointing compared to other nearby options. Don't order the boneless ribs, it's actually 2 strips of flank steak reheated on a flat top, not the same thing!
Sushi Shiono makes good grab n go sushi and the Wine bar has some great options, for late night too.
(This review is for the Wailea, Maui, location, but the company doesn't seem to post to that page!) Found this grocery/restaurant on our second trip to Kihei, Maui, and was angry that we didn't find it on our first trip! Excellent deli and prepared foods section that served me one of the best Kobe-Wagyu cheeseburgers I've ever had. Also excellent sushi rolls, musubi, salads and more. Island Gourmet Markets at The Shops of Wailea offers a variety of delicious dishes, including mahi mahi tacos, kimchi fried rice, and poke bowls. Customers can choose between fresh or previously frozen poke, with Hawaiian and Spicy Ahi Tuna being popular options. The kimchi fried rice is described as salty but tasty, and the mahi mahi tacos are refreshing and flavorful. Visitors also enjoy the coconut tapioca dessert bowl, which provides a nice, not overly sweet ending to the meal.
The restaurant is located at the north end of The Shops of Wailea, within walking distance of major resorts, making it a convenient choice for visitors. Although some items may be a little pricey, the friendly service and affordable prices offer a great alternative to resort dining. The market has a wide selection of products, including local food, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs, and the staff is known for their kindness. While there have been some issues with the quality of the rice in the Pork Adobo Bento, the overall experience remains positive, with customers praising the freshness of the food and the convenience of the location. The fresh food is often discounted in the evenings, providing additional savings over the high prices at nearby resorts.
