Just underwhelming. I guess I should share a few details, however I'm and bothered to add more effort in my review than the dining experience. The venue is absolutely fab! -- However the bug bites were just an trainwreck. Even when I am in a 3rd world country, restaurants have the where with all to put out something to drive away the pests.
My food was okay, but definitely not the best. B- type level. The salid was tiny and on a big plate even smaller. The Fillet was okay, but not amazing. My wife on the other hand got a weird creation that just dropped the overall experience. While they offered to replace it - she just did not care for what should have been straight forward. Her Ahi was good, but paired with a terrible lemon sauce...they type used to cover up cheaper fish taste. With some soy sauce and wasabi it was acceptable, but really --why do they not know this is a crap pairing???
Then came desert. Why god do you feel the need to use a full two pound bag of sugar on a 4 oz desert? At $150 each for dinner, the typical customer is going to be 40 years old + , so why is the menu in 8 pt font, and the preparation not more in line with the customers?

Mary was an exceptional server—thorough, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. She made us feel cared for from start to finish. The view was absolutely stunning, and every single bite of food was delicious. A truly memorable dining experience!

Only 5 Star restaurant in Maui. Unbelievable sunset view, amazing service, one of the best wine lists in the entire US and food beyond expectations. Wish we had more time here to eat here again and again.

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary dinner at the restaurant and also visited here every day of our stay for breakfast. We really enjoyed the food and service. The views and atmosphere were unbelievable! Great spot to celebrate a special occasion.
- For dinner, it is a set three course menu and we informed them prior about our dietary restrictions and allergies. They accommodated us and provided vegetarian substitutions for some dishes which we appreciated.
- breakfast was great every day and we tried a few different items on the menu, all great
- vegetarian selection is somewhat limited but they do remove meat or offer substitutions for dishes
- we really appreciated the care and attention to detail, they gave us a card signed from the restaurant staff which was special

The setting is undeniably beautiful and romantic, and the service was attentive and kind throughout the evening. However, the value for money just wasn’t there for us.
My husband and I dined here for what was meant to be our special, splurge-worthy dinner of the trip. We had a three-course meal. The scallop risotto was just okay—not particularly memorable. The ahi dish I had was good, but nothing special. The chocolate mousse was probably the highlight, but even that didn’t quite justify the overall cost.
I don’t mind spending money on a great meal—especially on vacation—but if it doesn’t live up to that price point, I think it’s fair to say something. At $500 for dinner, we were hoping for more in terms of flavor, presentation, service, and the kind of thoughtful extras that typically come with this level of dining.
That said, I’m a big fan of Hotel Wailea and genuinely want them to succeed in all aspects—including providing an amazing restaurant experience for guests. I hope this feedback is helpful, because the potential is certainly there.

food is alright, ridiculously expensive for teeny tiny serving sizes. service is slow as can be, youd almost think they forgot about you.

Such a memorable experience. The personal touch of the wishes by staff for our anniversary added to the memories. Shout out to the beef dish and converting a picky eater to one who welcomes the adventure of fine dining!

I hightly recommend the Chef's Garden Table dinner experience (which we did for our anniversary), located in the garden of the restaurant, it was just the right amount of intimacy with an amazing view for sunset. The chef was so friendly and you could tell he put so much effort into every detail on his food, not just on presentation. We left SO happy. Breakfast is absolutley amazing as well.

Came for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time! The staff was perfectly attentive while also giving space. The Pineapple Paper Plane cocktail was incredibly delicious. It is a 3 course pre-fixe menu with an optional additional first, fourth course. We did the standard 3 and it was plenty, All our food was excellent and we cleaned our dessert plates too. They sat us on the lanai and we had a beautiful view of the sunset. Would define go back next time we are in Maui.

After having been here almost annually for the past 10 years, I have to say that the new menu set up with the $150 per person for three courses, two of which are small and surely tasty but again small and nothing special, I doubt I’ll ever visit this restaurant again. Also $95 corkage is outlandish I mean, are you joking? I used to love this restaurant, the food has always been good, but let’s be honest. It’s not incredible. This is not a three star Michelin restaurant by any stretch - not even a one star frankly, and it’s just sad that somehow they seem to have decided that they want to be a three star and charge appropriately for that without changing anything else. So, good night, and good luck Hotel Wailea!
Had an amazing dinner at The Restaurant in the Wailea Hotel, and the highlight of our evening was our waiter! He was incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive from start to finish. He made us feel right at home and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to come across such genuine hospitality , thank you for making our night so special! Highly recommend asking for Ian if you visit.
It takes a lot for me to give one star.
Our driver dropped us off here instead of Birdcage.
Almost cancelled our reservation and went back to Four Seasons after speaking to the hostess.
I have never met someone so condescending and rude, wow! Will never stay here!!!
Daniel, the chef's and the whole team were fantastic. They helped make our wedding dinner into such a special night. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.
Such a memorable dinner for our babymoon! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was special, but what truly made the night unforgettable was the impeccable service—Ian was THE best. Attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, he made us feel so celebrated and well cared for. There was a tasting menu, and every course we chose was thoughtfully curated and beautifully presented. Each dish was more delicious than the last—the food was absolutely scrumptious. The flavors were refined yet comforting, and it was clear the chef put genuine heart into the menu. This dinner was a highlight of our trip—a perfect blend of incredible food, warm hospitality, and a relaxed yet elegant setting. We’re so grateful for this experience and will always remember it as one of the sweetest moments from our babymoon. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just an unforgettable night out!
