About The Lū‘au at Grand Wailea

The Lū‘au at Grand Wailea offers a unique dining and entertainment experience, set against the stunning backdrop of the beach at sunset. Guests are greeted with a kukui nut lei and a Mai Tai upon arrival, and the evening includes a local vendors market, lawn games, and photo opportunities. The seating is pre-assigned, which adds convenience, especially for those opting for premium seating near the stage.

The meal consists of four courses: chip/dip, salad/bread, entree, and dessert, along with an open bar featuring a variety of cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. While the food is described as decent, it lacks some flavor and may remind diners of a local diner’s offerings. Portions are generous, often leading to leftovers. Service is generally praised, with attentive staff who accommodate specific dietary needs.

The entertainment includes multiple acts, with a fire performance concluding the show. While some guests found the performers lacked passion, others enjoyed the lively atmosphere and fun activities for children. Despite the premium pricing—around $900 for two seats—many guests believe the experience is memorable, especially for families. However, some critics suggest that there may be better, more authentic luaus available on the island for less money. Overall, The Lū‘au provides a blend of culture, cuisine, and entertainment, making it a notable option in Maui.

Wonderful experience for our family. Memories well worth the cost. Perfect evening together. Great food and entertainment. Food was delicious and plentiful. Entertainment fun and enjoyable for kids and adults, both. Highly recommend!

Our family booked this show during our stay at the Grand Wailea, and had an incredible time! We were hesitant based on past experiences of 'dinner and a show' where the food is usually mediocre, but the meal here was delicious! The tickets were expensive however, when you factor in an open bar and ability to request more food to the platters they brought you, they even had a dairy free chocolate torte for dessert for my daughter and I we were blown away! The show itself was completely...read full review

The luau was wonderfully done! The MC was absolutely amazing. His stories and singing was truly the gem of the show. He made the experience feel like a cultural lesson that was inclusive and exciting. The dancers were wonderful and so captivating to watch! It was the perfect way to spend a beautiful night under the stars in Maui!
