“It was my first time in Maui for a work trip, and I was looking for a good lunch spot nearby—so glad I found this gem! I hadn’t had vegan or vegetarian food in a while, and this place absolutely hit the spot.

I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chickless lunch special, which came with the soup of the day and a dessert. I also got the Medicine Maker smoothie to go with it. Everything was delicious! The crispy “chicken” paired perfectly with a soft bed of jasmine rice, and the cabbage side was crunchy, fresh, and topped with toasted furikake flakes for extra flavor.

The smoothie was out of this world. The best way I can describe it is like drinking one of those Mexican mango candies with the chili coating I loved as a kid—sweet with a perfect kick of heat.

Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Maui. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town for work!“

“i found this food truck because my usual birria spot closed down. this lead to me repeatedly visiting this food truck throughout the summer because it is genuinely the best mexican cuisine i’ve ever had. i’ve been all around california and the bay area, and the birria tacos that i’ve had in my life have never compared to this. not only is the food absolutely stellar, but there is ONE lady who works the food truck. she takes your order, then turns around and makes it all herself. SO QUICKLY. WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE. the service is amazing. all of the sides are amazingly seasoned and delicious. horchata is perfect. i’m so glad that my usual birria spot wasn’t there that day because i found an absolute gem. the CONSISTENCY of the quality blows my mind. please anyone, if you’re reading this, GO TO LINDAS KITCHEN AND GET BIRRIA TACOS.“

“I don’t go to this place to eat. I cook at home. Because I belong to groups & clubs that meet at different places. I happen to go to this one on the corner of lower main st And Waiehu beach rd. In Wailuku / Waiehu. This place was clean a lot of seating available. We ordered drinks to find out they no longer carry the raspberry tea. So I ordered ice coffee. For our meeting, while ordering that their was a new item Being advertised so I asked for samples and the counter woman asked the manager if they do give samples so she said yes so she let a sample of the three items that they were advertising I thought that was really generous. Much later she came to see if we were happy with the samples. The ladies were satisfied with it . I feel comfortable in having future meeting here at this place. The work crew were very friendly. “Happened to be walking by, saw how busy it was, and loved the chill vibe so I waited for a table and so glad I did. Staff is EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL! Food was outstanding! The breakfast burrito was 10/10! The smash burger is one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long long time. The pancakes were fluffy and full of flavor! Would 110% recommend Cafe Mambo and definitely worth the wait if they don’t have an empty table!“

“We visited Coconut’s Fish Cafe at the Azeka Shopping Center on December 4th, 2025 around 6:00 PM, and honestly, we had a really nice time. The place was clean the moment we walked in — tables, floors, everything looked well taken care of. It has a simple, relaxed island vibe that makes you feel comfortable right away.

The service was quick, and the staff kept things moving smoothly even with a steady flow of people coming in. Our food came out faster than we expected, which was great.

We tried the Coconut Shrimp, the Kalua Pork Plate, and the Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi Plate, along with Aloha Maid juice, guava nectar, and a soft drink. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were good, and the flavors were light and easy to enjoy.

Overall, we walked out happy. It’s a clean spot with fast service, decent flavors, and a laid-back feel a solid choice for a casual dinner in Kihei.“

“Massive shout-out to the Surf Club and Paia Inn in Maui for being the absolute best wedding venue we could have ever imagined! The setting was like something out of a dream—lush greenery, stunning ocean views, and the perfect blend of tropical vibes and intimate charm. The photos speak for themselves!

But what really made our day unforgettable was the incredible staff. From start to finish, they went above and beyond, making sure every detail was perfect. They handled everything with such care and made us and our guests feel so welcomed and at ease. It was like being surrounded by family!

If you’re looking for a wedding or event venue in Maui, do yourself a favor and check out the Paia Inn. The combination of beautiful surroundings and exceptional service made our special day even more magical. Mahalo to the entire team for making it all happen!

“This is Maui's first JITB that was renovated a few years ago.

ATMOSPHERE:
The inside is clean. The drive thru is open 24 hours.

FOOD:
Ultimate Cheeseburger
I always feel so guilty when eating this. It's pretty much the size of a DQP from McD's but tastes worlds better. And with curly fries? OMG.

Sourdough Jack
This is the only other burger I order besides the UC. Its a bit smaller and has a unique taste with the sourdough bread.

Portobello Mushroom Buttery Jack
I HAD to try this after seeing the commercial years ago, and it was damn delish! Butter makes everything better. I was surprised that the mushrooms were fresh and tasty, as was the Swiss cheese. I always opt for curly fries but I think the regular fries would go better with this burger.

Jumbo Jack with Cheese
This is my alternative to the Ultimate Cheeseburger when I need a small snack. It's a single patty topped with ketchup and mustard, onions, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and is just the right size.

Portuguese Sausage, Eggs & Rice
Ask anyone in Hawaii, and they'll say that McD's is the place to get this local breakfast platter, as they've been doing it for decades now. So how does JITB's version compare? IMO, it does not. My biggest gripe and pet peeve is that the sausages were sweet. Yuck! I loathe sweet foods unless it's a dessert. The scrambled eggs were definitely real and not of the Egg Beaters variety but, pass.

Hash Brown
While it tasted similar to the McD's one, it was slightly larger, and just as crispy.

Ham & Egg Breakfast Pocket
After seeing the commercials I had to try it! Unfortunately, the flour tortilla-wrapped finger food was so bland regardless of the salty ham and fake cheese. No sauce/condiments came with it. Pass.

SERVICE:
The drive thru can be super slow more so at late night. Staff are friendly.“
