Taco Rosa Reviews
One of the best pies I ever had!!!
Being a celiac surrounded by mouth-watering, cheesy pizza is impossibly sad. My family looks forward to Pau Pizza night, but I am not left out in any way. Pau’s superfood salad, with quinoa, edamame, bright-tangy vinaigrette, and crunchy greens hits the spot. Their sister restaurant, Taco Rosa, has more spicy flavors than anyone could ever dream up for a simple taqueria. Healthy, hit-you-oh-so-good heat, vegan and gluten free grubtious goodness!
First time here. Very good pizza. We got pepperoni to try. Good sauce. Good chew on crust. Great service. Too bad far from Hilo otherwise they’d be our go to pizza joint!

Taco Rosa is a hidden gem serving both pizza and tacos. The outdoor seating is cute and inviting, with friendly staff. Their tacos are delicious and unique, with moist meats and perfect tortillas, made in-house with nixtamal. Favorites include the butter chicken, butternut squash, and carnitas. The food is excellent, with burritos and tacos for lunch, though some note the salsa bar was missing. The chicken tacos are good, but some prefer skipping the pickled onions. Many call these the best tacos they’ve had, quick, fresh, and so quality they never get old. They also offer pizza, made with sourdough and a thin crust, which is tasty even when eaten cold. This rooftop spot is a must-visit, sharing a space with Pau pizza, and offering a variety of dishes worth trying, including the Keiki quesadilla and hummus. Parking can be challenging in the busy area.
