This is a great place to get a nice sushi dinner fix on a budget. They have also brought me special order Rachel Sushi available at Altoona HyVee. It is made in a dragon design.“

“my daughter and I stumbled upon this neat place today. she has the classic burger with a side of fresh fruit and she loved it. I had the grinder with a side of amazing tomato bisque soup. we shared some tasty chicken loaded nachos and will definitely be making the 45 minute drive again very soon. our waitress was a lovely lady named Tatum(I cannot remember how your name is spelled,I'm so sorry). she was rocking the bar and taking orders all by herself. she constantly made sure we were doing ok. 10/10🤟“

“Love Truman’s! They hosted us last night for my birthday celebration and they did not disappoint. They never do! The food alone is delicious, their menu has something for everyone, plus some unique pizzas that I have tried to replicate. (Theirs was better 😉) Their service is always great too. Friendly staff, always helpful, and the dude who hosted our party of 26 last night was awesome and made sure we all had a great experience and had what we needed throughout our time there. Thanks for helping make my celebration so special Truman’s! I’ll be back soon!“

“I'll be honest, I haven't had the food. I stop in to have a drink and play the Golden Tee machine. Everyone says the tacos are fantastic. The service is incredible, best I've had anywhere in Ankeny. Y'all should stop by, it's an awesome local spot.“

“New owners came in and dropped a coat of paint on this bar, hired a great manager (shout out Jess!) and made the place feel more inviting. Plus, hard to beat one of the best steak dinner deals in town on Thursdays. Excited to see what they do with a planned expansion to the kitchen. Looking forward to some breakfast.“

“Didn’t feel like cooking so I called to pick up some burgers on the way home. Turns out it was a good idea. I’m never disappointed w any of the food I’ve gotten here. I always see the owner in there greeting customers and leaving the table full of smiles. This is the best example of local hospitality and food I can think of. Stop in and have a burger or a sandwich or some pizza or even a drink. You will be satisfied with your decision and may even wonder about being a regular. I’m glad this place is open.“

“Wow, just wow. The chicken wings were absolutely amazing. Crispy with a creamy, smoky wing sauce that gives a nice heat to your lips but won't send you running for the milk. The corn poppers were also delicious and 3 kinds of exile on tap means you'll have a decent selection of beers. Our waitress was really great despite it being very crowded. Definitely a gem of a find with dive vibes but good for gatherings. If you're looking for good wings in des moines, these are some of the best I've had.“

“My wife and I went there Saturday evening for dinner, drinks, and a football game. Our waitress was outstanding! Can't remember her name but she is a 4th grade teacher.
Drinks were wonderful and lots of draft beer to choose from. We ordered a pizza and it was very good. Good enough that we are coming back Friday night to try taco pizza.

“HyVee is a friendly Midwest grocery store chain. They typically have the freshest produce of anu grocery store, and the best selection. Their focus may not always be on the lowest prices, but they have a better selection and higher quality product than some cheaper stores. They're not overpriced, just maybe not the lowest. I find them to be a good value for quality and money. Staff is always friendly!“

“The food and service was very good. The person that was assigned to clean the dining area did a wonderful job, everything was perfectly clean. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because the AC didn't seem up to par but it was comfortable enough to have an enjoyable meeting.

“My friend and I wanted a drink and a late lunch. After stopping in Bench Warmers several times and not getting waited on because the waitresses tend to pay more attention to bar patrons, we decided to give Bench Warmers one more try! We were pleasantly greeted immediately by Lisa that took our drink order and gave us time to check out the menu and visit while we were enjoying our drinks. The service was fantastic and always with a smile. We will stop in again in the near future! I think one other waitress finally greeted us as we were walking out the door!“
