Tacos El Primo serves delicious and fresh steak tacos with spicy sauce, hot and flavorful. It's considered the best taco spot in Ames, with tasty sauces and a standout birria cake. The Quesabirrias and Torta Birria are highly recommended, with the latter being a unique and hard-to-find dish. Parking is convenient with a small but always available lot. This place has the best lengua taco in Iowa, with nice big juicy cooked chunks of lengua that will melt in your mouth. Customers praise the good quality steak, the delicious half pepper with some heat, and the excellent green and red sauces. The tortabirria is also a standout.
