Always love Monterrey. We are a family of vegetarians and they always accommodate any needs we have and have a great vegetarian menu!They are always super quick with making our order (we always order takeout/pickup). The restaurant is always busy, but always looks very clean. Food is always hot and they are super consistent with taste/quality.Great bang for your buck. For 3 adults getting 3 vegetarian entrees and chips/salsa it's $35 and we tip $5 to whoever put in / made our order for us.. Pretty hard to come across any restaurant, fast food or not where you can get such large portions and feed 3 adults for under $40!

Slow service, not good with the food not a worthy meal plate. Needed to get waiters attention by excuse me, ? … on his phone. Mostly it was like it was just seems like a conjunction. Chips tasted old ugly oily. Strange to have them sweeping up during on time there. Flimsy napkins and lacking concern.Ordered top shelf math tasted just like a regular one. Didn’t like waiters on cell phone when I felt it was disrespectful.Just icky

This is by far our favorite Mexican restaurant in the metro area. The salsa is amazing! Our favorite dish is the Hawaiian fajitas: steak, chicken, shrimp, bacon, peppers and onions grilled with a slice of pineapple on top. Heaven! The blended margaritas are fantastic, and the service staff is incredibly friendly. We probably go several times a month.

My husband took me and the family here since he has eaten here before and really enjoyed it. I loved the atmosphere and the decor. The food was great. We stopped by during lunch while driving back from Texas, and we were seated right away. It was busy but not too busy. Big portions of food, and it was nicely seasoned. We enjoyed the chips and salsa,but the cheese dip is a MUST!! When we drive through Des Moines again, I will definitely ask my husband to take us there again.

This used to be my go-to Mexican food restaurant. The frozen margaritas are amazing. But last night myself and two family members were there and experienced an unfortunate meal. I had a fajita bowl with dry chicken and chewy steak. Another family member had the same issue with their fajitas. The chicken in the enchiladas was dry and tasted old. I gave extra stars for the waiter who was very friendly and helpful. Hoping it was an off night for the food. Disappointed.
