“As far as atmosphere and the general layout of the place goes it's one of our favorites. The tables near each bay make it so you can have people who aren't golfing tag along and they'll still feel included in the group. One member of the management team is usually present and I feel that they make it easy to see that they care deeply about their business. Spending an afternoon golfing and drinking can be expensive but it's make a positive difference when you know you're supporting a genuinely good hearted business.“

“My husband and I stopped by when we heard live music and we had such a fun time! It was pretty quiet for a Friday night (we also left before 9 pm), but we loved the intimate atmosphere and being able to interact with the band, who were very talented and friendly. Our bartender was warm and attentive and ensured we were taken care of. Their sangria mocktail was SUPER yummy and I was impressed at their mocktail selection. Excited to come back some time and try their food- the chicken strips look phenomenal!“

“The Park Avenue Pub has been around forever, well known on the Southside of Des Moines and largely remains unchanged. Still operating under normal pub hours and participating in local pool league tournaments. If you’re looking for fancy, this is not your place. If you’re looking for an old school simple watering hole and place to grab a bite, this is it. A small group of us still get together periodically on Saturdays for sausage sandwiches and a couples beers. Always a thumbs up on the sandwiches and they are reasonably priced. Also, plenty of parking in the back.“

“Would have loved to give a 5 start review but I can’t. First it’s a fantastic bar, super friendly staff, great atmosphere and has a patio. However the two things that I personally didn’t like was an automatic $1.50 charge to any tabs paying with a card. Last thing I didn’t like was when I walked inside it immediately smelled like vomit. The restaurant was super clean and didn’t give off a vibe that they don’t regularly clean. Maybe it was something in the carpet or perhaps another patron. I would visit again.“
