Pickle-Barrell Subs Reviews
This place is awesome don't come if you are expecting a fine dining restaurant.
We live towards mchenry, IL. Every time we're in Dubuque we stop here. We absolutely love their bread, Highly recommend stopping in.
Nice local submarine sandwich shop. Lot like Subway but locally owned. Great friendly service.
There are plenty of subs on the menu to choose from. They have meal deals as well. Add a bag of chips and a drink. Has a old school deli feel to it. Place gives of a simple vibe. You stay and eat or take your order to go.
I ordered the vegetarian sub and I was able to choose the size of the sub. Also what bread and toppings I wanted.

Pickle-Barrell Subs is a local, old-school sub shop that offers a convenient grab-and-go experience. The homemade bread is soft and delicious, but can become soggy when paired with saucy fillings like meatballs. While the veggies appear to be canned, the deli-cut meats are solid, and the meatballs are particularly tasty. The service is great, and they don't require a tip, which is a rarity these days. However, the lack of a toaster and the preference for shaved deli meat over the thicker cuts may be a drawback for some customers. Overall, Pickle-Barrell Subs provides a decent sub experience, with a price point of $24 for a 9-inch cyclone and meatball sub.
