“My mother and I stopped in after a very long day at my grandmother's celebration of life to get some gas. I decided I wanted a drink, so I go grab one when I return to register the very gracious and amazing cashier who may be the owner, but I'm gonna know because the customer service is beyond amazing. Anyway, he asked if we had been inside since Casey's left in our case we hadn't he then graciously without hesitation offered 2 of their amazing biscuits and a Cajun Chicken Sandwich. He offered them for free without hesitation fresh out of the oven. It's hard to find good customer service, especially when customers can be very rude to workers. I forgot your name because it's been a rough week, but i will definitely be back 100%. Thank you from my mother, and I sincerely I wish your business nothing but success.

“We saw a menu at a hotel in town while we were passing through and decided to order. Some of the bad reviews sounded pretty negative, but I don't know what the complaints were about. We got the Moo Goo Gai Pan and Sweet & Sour Chicken combos plus egg drop soup, and everything was fantastic. My husband even commented that it was his favorite fried rice he had ever had. Thanks for the great meal!”

We made sure to Thank her for her great service as always! Cheryl is one of the sweetest hard working individuals. She helped us tonight in the Waterloo store since Evandsale is getting remodeled. “For a BK it’s descent. Food was good…no complaints. The person behind the counter could’ve been a little more personable and it would’ve been nice if the ice machine worked built into the pop machine (I was able to get ice by asking the front counter person to get some for me).”

“So went to McDonald’s in Evansdale just a little bit ago and the girl which was a manager had a complete attitude after I paid and went up to the presenting window I realized this poor girl was taking orders for both drive thrus and taking money and bagging the orders. I asked her if she was doing everything alone and she said yes and immediately apologized for sounding rude, I told her I could understand why this poor girl you can tell was having a horrible night she had tears in her eyes like she was about to break down I told her I hope her night gets better. So to this manager I don’t know how new of a manager you are but I can tell you what you were doing tonight was amazing work it’s not fun having to do it all. I hope whoever is your GM knows how great of a worker you are.”

“Our recent trip to Waterloo was topped off by a fantastic dining experience at D&K Hickory House restaurant. Thanks to a Google search of nearby restaurants, we stumbled on this "hidden treasure", and we're absolutely blown away. From the fast and courteous service by Cindy, our amazing server, to the final farewell from the owners daughter ( sorry, I didn't catch her name), this place hit it out of the park. My wife and I ordered salads with bleu cheese dressing, and were expecting the standard, generic dressing that attempts to taste like the real thing..WOW, were we wrong!! What we received was a homemade dressing with big chunks of real bleu cheese in a tangy-sweet mixture that left us wanting more. When I commented to Cindy, that it was the best I had tasted, she suggested we try the creamy garlic, also homemade, and she brought us a sample to try...another Home Run !!. When our entrees arrived, which was surprisingly quick for a Saturday night, we were again, incredibly impressed. I had the rib dinner, with hash browns. The ribs were tender, tangy, and literally falling off the bone. As a BBQ junkie, I was in 7th Heaven. My wife opted for the fried shrimp and they were cooked to perfection. The meals also came with choice of potato, a basket with dinner rolls and crackers, and a small relish tray...all very tasty . When Cindy brought our bill, she offered us a brief history of the place, and it sounds like citizens of Waterloo/Cedar Falls have been enjoying this local joint for over 70 years...very impressive. All in all, this was one of the highlights of our visit, and we will be sure to return again, the next time we are in the area. Two things to consider before visiting, they take cash & check only...no electronic payment...no problem...and, you would be wise to call first for reservation.. Truly a memorable meal and dining experience. 5 stars all around !!”
