“What a wonderful find. We were in Iowa visiting family when a friend suggested we try Char Steakhouse. I was skeptical at first but made the drive to Fairfield to try this place. I am so glad we did. We started with cocktails and wine which were delicious and crafted perfectly. Next was a salad course that was crisp and fresh. Our entree consisted of filets, both were cooked perfectly and the flavor was exceptional. We finished up with a cream brûlée that the chef perfected. We have eaten a lot of steaks in our lives all over the world and recently moved from Scottsdale, AZ to Texas. These steaks were cooked to absolute perfection in my book. The service was great, attentive enough to provide everything we needed without hovering after every bite. We met the owner who you can tell loves what she is doing. This is a great date night place for us. Keep up the great food and service, can’t wait to return.“
