“I love places like this, been around since 1957. Great vibe with a simple menu done really well. I created my own 10 inch pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and green peppers, cooked a little extra dark. The crust is thin and crispy, just the way I like it. The flavors were awesome. They had Easy Eddie from Big Grove on tap as well. No Parmesan cheese, which I thought was a little strange but overall an amazing place.“
“Big fan of this place they have just as good Italian as the do pizza. The Mark Pizza was pretty good but I would go back again for their whipped ricotta. Can say I noticed anything bad about the service which is good. Only thing about the space is that it's pretty small good for small groups.“
“Some of my favorite Italian food in the Iowa city area! My favorite things to order here are any other pizzas (esp the mushroom and lobster) and pastas. really great interior, relaxing environment, nice balance between being fancy yet approachable!“
“I would say the Union Jack is my favorite pizza in Iowa City. After saying this I like the hybrid not quite deep dish style. Their thin crust is good but doesn't compete with Pagliai's. Other than that good service and good atmosphere for a pizza place.“
“The chicken lip extravaganza is awesome and usually turns into a meal plus a snack for later. The sauce on the chicken lips hits every time, the mac and cheese and dim sum green beans are excellent. Staff is always friendly and fast every time I go in. You can see right into the kitchen which looks super clean. They also have a free rewards program which means every 3 or 4 times I get takeout it's about half-price on my meal. I haven't explored their menu much, but everything I've had has been high quality.“
“The fresh dough makes a much better pizza. The crew does their best to keep up with the high volume of orders. You may experience a longer wait time for deliveries, but that's because everyone is ordering from here late at night. The drivers are making runs for customers non-stop. Make sure to get your order in earlier for the best delivery experience. Those that have tried Gumby's always recommend it to family and friends.“
“They really put on a lot if topping, especially the meat Marvel and Taco pizza. Parking is difficult you have to find a lot where there isn't permit parking and then there is parking meters. But once navigating the parking you will be rewarded with a wonderful pizza.“
“I went and picked up a pizza from these folks for the first time last night. OMG! One of the best commercially produced pizzas I have ever had the pleasure to eat ! Full disclosure I usually make my own and they rock too. I had the The Wedgetable Garden with Jerk Chicken added. Honestly I felt I should have left it without the JC, because the pizza was already LOADED. Every darned thing about that pie was perfect. One of the few IC pizzas that is not too greasy (look'n at you Pags). I highly - HIGHLY recommend their pizza !“
“Mesa Pizza always has a hot slice and frequently has a huge selection of options to suit your tastes/dietary needs. We have a vegan in our family, which makes Mesa one of the places we can grab a quick bite downtown in short order. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch, a fast bite on your way to an evening engagement, or some after-the-bars grub, it's hard to beat Mesa Pizza.“
“Ordered pizza on the papa murphy's app. It was easy to do and my order was ready and on time when I arrived to pick it up. Worker was friendly and nice. Took pizza home "papa's favorite " cooked up nicely. Pizza was loaded with lots of toppings and was delicious ?“
“Went in with my boyfriend last Friday for date night. The main room with the bar was packed so our server sat us in the other room in the back were it was quieter. We ordered a few drinks, I tried the Elderflower Spritz, which was delicious, and my boyfriend got a beer. The server was a sweetheart but seemed a little nervous. But theymade sure we were taken care of, he checked in on us periodically and made sure everything was to our liking! The food took a little longer than I had hoped, but given how busy it was I understand the wait! Overall it was a great experience and we’ll been back again soon!“
“I called in for a last minute order to take to a school event. I needed the order in a half hour and gave no notice. I called to see if they where able to do it and they seems happy to wip something together for me. It was all packages nicely for travel and it taste amazing! To bad when I got to the event I discovered it was not a potluck.?♀️ Thats okay because everything reheated well.“
“DP Dough is a chain. But this downtown staple is the only one in Iowa, and it has got it goin on. The menu features calzones, stix, tots and wings. No frills, something for everyone and reasonably priced. (There are a TON of calzone options but you can make your own, as well.) I needed breadsticks on a random Tuesday. I popped online and ordered for pickup. (Though it is available for delivery via CHOMP, too.) I saw the bacon cheesy tots and decided to give those a try too. The order was ready in about a half hour, piping hot. There are a few metered spots outside but also a unloading zone not too far down that you could park quick and run in from. No complaints! DP Dough is worth an order if you're craving some calzones! (Check out their website for special deals or promos.)“
“Amazing fun place! We had our first date at a Double Tap in Cedar Falls, IA so of course on August 16th 2022 when we got married we had to have our reception at the Double Tap in our local Iowa City, IA. Super fun drinks, great games, great pizza and super fun bartenders. Best first date and even better wedding!!!“
