I have eaten here a few times and was quite happy. The atmosphere is warm and pub-like. The beer is cold etc. But today I had an awful meal there. I was hungry for a Ruben and shorts was on my way home. They didn't have a Rubin so I ordered a Germantown burger. It looked like a Rubin with hamburger instead of corned beef on the menu. When it came my whole plate was cold, fries limp and cold, bread soggy and limp didn't seem to be toasted, lots of thousand island, but meat cold and dry,probably only a tablespoon of sauerkraut and limp veg. Cheese was fine but cold. I'm not sure if I will go back.

I'm a regular there. The food & service bring me back every week. The Tinga nachos rule. Staff are super friendly. Many extras don't cost extra. Also no cc coveince fee is nice.

I always enjoy the place and food was good but this evening it was the worst food I’ve ever had from here and burger was bone dry, fries were so soggy like it was dipped in water and on top buns were burned. I also had order of onion rings and over cooked so burnt I couldn’t taste it. I definitely won’t ever eat there again.

I've eaten here several times, and the food is always excellent. Most recently, we dined in on a Monday, which is their burger special night. We just happened to hit happy hour as well, so I was expecting a bigger bill. So, I just put a little more in their tip.Burgers are great, drinks are cold, service is wonderful. I substitute the potatoe salad for French fries, and it's really good.I would recommend this place 11 times out of 10 over that 5 Guys place, especially on a Monday. Their burgers are way better! And you can even have an adult beverage with it!Anyone traveling along I-80 should stop here for a burger. Especially if it's a Monday.Parking: There is plenty of parking, but there isn't really a place for truckers trucks hauling/pulling a trailer. So that kind of sucks.

We have a lot of nice neighborhood locally owned bars and restaurants in Iowa City. Shorts on the east side is among them. The veggie bean burger I had was quite good and the service was fast and friendly.
Went there after an iowa football game. There was a Big crowd but staff was awesome. Food was fabulous. Well worth the wait.

Great place. Greeted quickly, sat as fast. Lots of selections for both burgers & chicken. Good was delicious. Service was great. Definitely going back.Only thing I didn't care for was lighting in back corner both to right of entrance. Dimly lit.

Very attentive and friendly staff! Amazing burgers! They do benefits for local non profits and services like the animal shelter on select days. Was helpful in my time of need when my keys were locked in my car and they helped me find a way to get them out, Blackstone wasn't interested in helping me out, but they were!Parking: So much parking!Kid-friendliness: Staff is kind, patientand attentive
