Book selection was amazing, merch was also adorable and not terribly expensive. Girl behind the counter truly, truly did NOT want to be there. She could have been having a bad day but unfortunately both the coffee and the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Great bookstore/coffee shop. The owner was great, giving my wife several suggestions for the book she purchased. The vibe in there is welcoming. If we lived closer we would stop by for drinks regularly

Great place to socialize, read, work, etc. Hot and cold drinks we ordered were all perfectly prepared and delicious. Staff members were super nice!

Amazing coffee!!

Great coffee- we had the wedding cake latte and s’mores mocha. Very well priced for Iowa City. We sat in the comfy couch and read our books- lots of people there but it was cozy and quiet. Whoever had the aux was killing it! Lots of cute gifts and a great selection of books- you can tell that love went into the selection of each title. The bakery items are from The Eat Shop- a local favorite of ours. Can’t wait to come back!

I had a great experience at Sidekick Coffee & Books. Great menu variety and the flavors were spot on. The drinks were excellent and everything was reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Iowa City.

The coffee and drinks are decent, though fairly average in taste compared to other specialty cafés. Service is generally friendly, but can be a bit slow during busier times, especially when the shop is crowded.

Overall, it’s a nice concept with a relaxing environment, but there is room for improvement in drink quality and service speed.

Super cute bookstore, decent amount of seating, looks like its fills up quick tho when school is in session. My latte with caramel was good but the cold brew was not good at all. The staff was very kind and accommodating about getting us something else instead.

Expensive drinks and treats and nothing tastes good. Also the staff aren’t the friendliest and make mistakes every time me or my friends come to order . I don’t think I will ever come back.
