“This is one of our favorite bakeries in the area. It is run by the Amish. They do close for a couple months in the winter so don't plan on any goodies then. They have, for several years, been at the Washington Farmer's Market. It opens at 5 pm on Thursdays starting in May through Oct (I believe.) Get there early, there is always a line and they don't allow sales until 5 pm, period.
We love their caramel pecan rolls, whoopie pies, apple fritters, cheese garlic bacon bread, and twist donuts the most. During the mornings while they are still baking it is possible to get warm goodies. The caramel pecan roll was only 15 minutes out of the oven and it was all I could do not to eat it on the way home to save for my family.
My only complaint is that I wished they sold the whoopie pies in either a a smaller pack or better yet, singles. It is dangerous to get them in a larger multi pack.
They do have more than baked goods. They sell, some woodworking (furniture and toys,) wind chimes, books, toys, general goods, a bit of bulk food items, jams etc. There is a seating area for anyone who wants to enjoy their baked goods before hitting the road again.”

“There's nothing better than ice cream while chatting on a street corner! I never know who I get to chat with while in line. My favorite combination is the green apple ice cream with caramel and nuts-it's the perfect salty, sweet, with a hint of sour.”

““They forgot to cut my pizza, and it look bad. We had to cut the pizza ourselves smh. Them cookies do be smackin though.” I got confused whether this was at Washington or Kalona. Turns out this was in Washington. Sorry about that.”
“Loud, had 2 rings going so you have to decide which one you want to be at. Horse ring a wheelchair can get to ring on floor. Not many spots. Other ring, food, bathrooms, catwalk and office can not get to in wheelchair. Stairs to those. Clean none the less”

“We ate at this restaurant for the first time 7-30-25. As we had just had Mexican food elsewhere the night before so we chose the Whiskey Burger with fries to share. BEST burger I have ever had. French fries were done perfectly. We ordered sauted vegetables as a side and they were awesome. Perfectly tender crisp and seasoned perfectly. We will make the drive from Muscatine again!”
