“Stayed here for a couple days on a business trip. Because of its close proximity to the location i would be going, it would be easy to walk too.

At 1st I was a bit underwhelmed since it reminded my of those old time hotels with decor and layout. But eventually I grew into it.

The only thing I wished is that breakfast could have been included as part of the stay.”

“I stopped at Lara’s yesterday for the first time, and was greeted with wonderful smells and beautiful smiles! The staff was very, very kind. I told one of the girls I’d never been in before, and she proceeded to show me everything on display. All of the yummy baked goods and pastries are huge, and the prices are very very reasonable! I left with 7 treats and only paid $9.50. Awesome quality, astounding service, a joy to have in Marshalltown!”

The ingredients were fresh and you could taste all the individual vegetables and meat distinctly. The prices were comparable to national pizza chain restaurants and the pizza came out quickly.”

“Can't recommend Terri enough! She made two dozen adorable Halloween themed baby shower cookies, and they were delicious!! I've never had one of these decorative cookies that I actually thought tasted good, I honestly just thought you had to choose between eye catching and taste. But these were both! Beyond pleased, guests at the shower texted me after bringing them home to let me know how great they tasted. Highly recommend.”

“Lots of people, mostly younger crowd, always music and dance floor is hot, nice pool tables and big acarde area with lots of fun games. Sometimes service takes awhile and maybe they could use more bartenders during peek hours but the bartenders are always working hard and are cute so it makes up for it. Good vibes in general.”

“This is the best little bar in town. Everyone is polite, funny and the bartenders know exactly what you drink after the first visit. Seating capacity 24, but so much more in the visit then a seat. Shirley, the owner is the best. The customers are friendly and everyone says hello.”

“Authentic Mexican in Iowa? Who would have guessed! We live in Texas, where good street tacos are prized. Maria's are as good as any I've had at home or in Mexico City. The posole was flavorful, and husband said the burrito was five star. Homemade horchata was best I've had anywhere. Every time we come to Marshalltown for family, Maria's is a must stop. Don't expect a fancy restaurant. It's window service from an old house, and you eat at picnic tables on the enclosed front porch or outside. But every Texan knows the best Mexican food comes from a hole-in-the-wall joint.”

“Absolutely love their food. I get food from there as much as I can. I also like the service; they are very attentive and I appreciate that. I'm an introvert and so the busy atmosphere is not my favorite but the service and foo overcome that.

When I'm there I'm definitely getting fried rice, crab ragoon, seasame chicken, garlic green beans, broccoli from the broccoli chicken and the black pepper chicken. YUM!!”

“Me and my friend walked in and met Calvin who led us to Rosie’s which is a dining area/bar within the bowling alley. Our breath was honestly taken away by how beautiful and clean it was in there. A speakeasy vibe and comfortable atmosphere. Our server Calvin was incredible and so nice, making sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and it came with pita chips which I love, then we ordered the Olympian pizza… best pizza ever. Top 3 pizzas I’ve ever had. With that being said, food, service, atmosphere, 10/10 recommend.”

“When this store first opened, I did not like it as much as the older Little Caesar's in the K-mart. It seemed like they skimped a bit on the sauce and cheese. After the K-mart closed, this store is the only option so I would still occasionally get pizzas there, but never with much enthusiasm.Fortunately, this store has really seemed to turn around! The last few orders I have placed, always for a custom pizza and not a hot-n-ready pizza, have been excellent.Keep making the pizzas great and I will keep coming back for more! Thanks!”

Edit* Perkins has made a change for the better. My last review was 2 years ago. I've gone here a few times since then. Food is much better. Staff is super friendly. And they cleaned up. Great place to grab breakfast with friends.”

“China Buffet in Marshalltown has really good food. Everything I’ve tried tastes great, the meat is cooked well, the sauces are flavorful, and the fried rice is solid. Their egg rolls and General Tso Chicken are my favorites. The staff is also super nice, which makes the whole experience even better. Just good food and good people.”

“Was coming through Marshalltown and wanted to stop for lunch. Headed to DQ because that’s always fun to enjoy. The folks at the S. Center St DQ were friendly and upbeat - something you don’t always see in the restaurant business. Lacey was great at the front counter; our food came out fresh and hot, it was great! The manager and employees greet customers while their dining and ask if they need anything. I can tell that their mission is serving people. It really shows in the culture. Would recommend 👍🏼”
