“What a wonderfully delicious place hidden back along the river. Ordered from the counter with lots of options. The brisket was very good. My Family also had the burnt ends and pulled pork. Everything was delicious. The cheesy hash browns were especially good. If you happen to be driving along the Mississippi River Road North of Keokuk this is a great stop for wonderful BBQ.“
“We heard about this place and as we all love fried chicken, we decided we had to make a Roadtrip. We arrived early, and tables were reserved with some open tables available. We ordered our drinks and as this restaurant/bar serves Amber Bock, hubby and I were happy. ( We had a designated driver). The buffet had a fantastic salad bar, with various toppings, excellent Coleslaw, Applesauce, Cottage Cheese, and other items. For the hot food, they had real mashed potatoes, really good country white gravy, Corn, chicken gizzards and livers. The fried chicken was outstanding. The outside was crisp and he inside was juicy and moist. It was some of the very best fried chicken. You would swear they had a grandma in the kitchen cooking that chicken. The gizzards and livers were a little more done than I prefer, but they were still good. Prices are reasonable and you get good service. The staff was running as the place was packed. On the night that they have the chicken buffet, I would strongly suggest you make a reservation. We will on our next trip back. This is now in our places to eat. Can’t wait to go back and try their other menu items. If you haven’t tried this place you need to put it on your list of places to try. Don’t think you will be disappointed.“

“A great little diner that has a little nostalgia it used to be a DX gasoline station. Which I thought was pretty cool cuz I grew up in Monmouth there was a DX gas station. Food was good they had a burglary somebody stole their ATM and they didn't take credit cards so a very nice lady I had no cash on me. She bought my breakfast. I'll definitely be going back.“
“Took a chance and stopped for a bite to eat. Prices were good, had the Red Front burger--not much to it but good tasting. Potato Salad was very good. Had the cookie dough brownie brick for dessert--excellant!! If I had a cooler I would've taken 1 or 2 on our 3 hr drive home.“

“This is a bar and grill that is No Frills what-you-see-is-what-you-get however. The food is spectacular they have all you can eat chicken on Wednesdays they have tacos and a whole variety of food. Their best item on the menu is there breaded pork tenderloin. It's usually enough for two people and bring your appetite.“

I had the pulled pork sandwich - there was something else unique about it but I can't quite remember what now - and some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. “This place shows on Google maps that it’s closed. However, we stayed there June 6-10, 2022. They have been closed down for a couple of years and are just starting to open back up. The restaurant is not open. This is a basic rv park with no frills. We were able to book this site by messaging them on FB.The sites are full hookup and pull through. We did have to dig out the lid to the sewer connection with a stick, but it only took about a minute. All sites are grass, no concrete pads. The bathrooms and laundry were unavailable.The owner of the property greeted us when we arrived. SUPER NICE man! He is very knowledgeable about the area both with history and with where to go and what not to miss. Definitely talk to him and ask him about his recommendations! We did everything he recommended and we were not disappointed.The price per night was extremely reasonable, but you need to have cash or Venmo to pay. And the location is amazing! We would definitely stay here again.“
“I ate one of the best tenderloins I have ever eaten. Must have been an inch thick and super large. Had to cut it in half to take half home. The french fries were perfect too. Didn't catch the name of our waitress but she was fantastic waiting on our group of twelve.“
“This place is my favorite place to stop. Its a local business, still pretty cheap. Great ice cream and a gumball machine. They alsl say if you get a watermelon gumball you can get a free small cone! Theyre very nice and nice to just stop by and say hi.“
