“We had lunch there yesterday. I left with my belly full after having a delicious lunch of a huge cheese rite and delicious fries. My life partner had a delicious fish sandwich, cooked to perfection. The last time we were the the owner (I assume) offered me a boasted chicken leg, on the house. It was the best chicken I've had in years!!!! We don't go out much, but our next outing will definitely be to the Norwalk Maid-Rite for a chicken dinner!!“

“Visited 1908 tonight to watch Monday night football and the food and service were amazing!!! Our server Meg was so personable and attentative! Love their menu and atmosphere. Great place to relax and watch the game.They really know how to take care of their customers here! Highly recommend this place!“

“What can I say that hasn't been already said. Amazing across the board. Service from Jules was outstanding. Each course was exceptionally well thought out presented in an artistic way. Yes, it's pricey but considering this is not the type of place most people dine at all of the time, it is more than well worth the amount.“

“My husband and I have eaten at Aura at least 5 times. We've also hosted group dinners there. The food is FANTASTIC, and the mussels are absolutely delicious. And I'm from the NW, I know delicious mussels! The ONLY thing keeping me from giving it a 5 STAR review is that the music is too loud, and it's monotonous. Please, serve quiet, enjoyable music to go along with your wonderful food.“

“We had our wedding dinner tonight at Harbinger. Low-key, just the two of us. We were treated with such kindness and respect from everyone, including the chef who made concessions to his tasting menu for my wife’s sugar issues. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We visit Harbinger we are blown away by the quality of our dining experience.“

“I wish I would have taken more photos but the food was so good our family couldn’t think to take photos. My mom wanted to eat at HoQ Resturant for her 40th wedding anniversary and wanted the whole family with them to celebrate. Little back story my mom sells vegetables to the owner that he uses in his dishes. 90% or more of the ingredients are locally sourced in Iowa. Farm to table concept. We started withh naan bread the brought out and a little bit of I think pasta with beets. What ever it was it was goos. Then we ordered several different appetizers. Burnt carrots, Hummus and some kind of bread, chicken skewers, and pierogies. For meal we got different things. Several had the bison burger and fries, 2 had the 5 oz steak with risotto. Mom and I had the Mediterranean bowl with falafel add tandoori chicken. That is the only thing I got a photo of of course after I started to eat. The accommodated our little girls with grilled cheese and fries and a side of chicken. Finished off our meal with. Cake my sister made ( our grandma’s recipe) Minnesota chocolate cake with fudge icing. And the restaurant brought out several scoops of vanilla ice cream with shortbread cookies. All the food was so good everyone at the table was quiet including my dad. If you know my dad you know that is not a common thing for him not to be taking and eating. I have posted a photo of my food and a photo of my parents with their cake. And yes my mom is wearing her original wedding dress she wore 40 years ago when she married my dad. Thank you again HoQ for the amazing dining experience and for letting us have a private room to celebrate our parents!“

“The bison dinner was a work of art! This was my first time having bison and I would definitely come back for the dinner again! And their specialty drinks have great names with amazing flavor…. Staff was phenomenal and I really can’t say enough great things… Definitely a must to eat here!“

“Everything was phenomenal from beginning to end! The waitstaff was attentive but not overbearing, and our waiter in particular was so friendly and recommended the crab stuffed walleye, which was to die for! The environment was classy and intimate, yet casual enough that it felt comfortable and warm. The best part of the meal was the appetizer- the seared ahi tuna is too good for words, just trust me on this and order it! This was a great place to visit for my birthday dinner, and we definitely plan on being back.“

“This was our first time eating here. We drove down from Nebraska today to go exploring and see the covered bridges of Madison County and found the Hitchin’ Post to eat dinner! “The pizza is excellent! The small pizzas are larger than a dinner plate, and are a great deal when 1/2 price on Mondays. Quattro formaggio was delicious and had a ton of flavor. Even the carnivore at the table didn't miss the meat.

Service was ok. They were super busy so not sure if they were short staffed or if our experience was normal. Had to cancel a second beer ordered because we had finished dinner and it still hadn't arrived. Bill was dropped off without the specials discounted and had to be reprinted. Waiter was friendly and apologetic about the misses. Prior to being seated the hostess seemed very confused about table status.

Atmosphere is busy, it looked like the kitchen staff were having a great time and enjoying the dinner rush. It's fun to watch the pizzas being made.“

“We had pizza at Gilroys tonight! It is the best thin crust pizza around! The margarita is my go to and my husband gets the sausage and pepperoni! “Nick’s is always a win! If you’re there, you are family. The staff truly cares that your experience is spectacular. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is top-notch. Twice a month I meet up with a wonderful friend to sit at the bar, eat some snacks, and enjoy a bourbon or martini while she drinks wine. Even with the rarity of my visits, the bartenders treat me like a regular and work to get to know me. You cannot match the level of service! I typically stay for a short amount of time, eat while I’m there, and also take food home for my high school aged children. The to go food is always perfectly packaged and delicious even if it sits on the counter for a bit while we finish our conversation and settle bills. I cannot recommend Nick’s enough. I almost hate to post this review and ruin the truly beautiful experience.“

“Good food, always fresh in my experiences with eating here. Doesn't cost a lot, and if you go away hungry from their buffet, it's your own fault. Would recommend to anyone. Also I've never been grossed out by the bathroom. That's a big bonus for me. After using the restroom I like coming out feeling relieved and clean not ready to shower as soon as I get home...cause eewwwww.... So thank you for keeping up on your restroom as well as the face appearance of your restaurant.“

“Rooms were a bit on the small size. There was not enough closet space or dressers for clothes. We only had three in the room and we had to use our suite cases to keep our clothes in. The beds were comfortable. Service on the concierge level was outstanding. The banquet meals were over priced and not worth the money we paid for them.“

“Highly recommend! Very glad that we stopped here on our way through Iowa. Had a bunch of different appetizers (portobello fries, roasted Brussels sprouts, pretzels with beer cheese, pub salad) and beignets for dessert, all of which were delicious. They have a huge variety of beers, as well as some really tasty cocktails, and we enjoyed creating our own flights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bartender in particular was very knowledgeable about all the different breweries, styles and particular beers. The space was clean and comfortable. It would be the perfect place to host a party. Wish we had this place in our city!“

“We went to Americana for a birthday this morning and had the breakfast buffet. The food was pretty standard for a buffet. The salted caramel pancakes and filled donut holes were good. The biscuits were over cooked. We also had Bloody Marys and Mimosas which were good“

“Stopping for a couple days in Des Moines on the way west I was delighted to find such a great place. When I saw a local place that had gyros I knew I had to go. I was not disappointed. Far from it. Delicious food. Fast and friendly service. And the owner came out to meet my motopup Izzy. I know I'll be stopping here the next time I'm in Des Moines. Do yourself a favor and try it.“

“I wanted more food options, truth be told it was not what I expected I guess I was thinking more food court like and someone had told me food truck options but that was not the case which was NOT a problem at all.my husband and I both had brawtwurst and shares truffle fries, a drink and a bar beverage and is was $56. They were out of a few options on the menu, mainly seafood options, which I wanted shrimp.you order from the QR code on the tables or the kiosk when you enter.Nick which we believe was the manager was nice, approachable and appeared to be "not too good to work" he would grab something if we randomly asked as they were not busy for a Tuesday afternoon right after at.patricks day.Bathrooms were clean.Free refills on non alcoholic drinks.It would be a hug place to have a party.The distillery is separate from the food hall, I wasn't aware until I asked, I thought the distillary was were the drinks came from they are apparently two separate businesses.“

“The floral shop!! So impressed today on how they have it set-up and decorated for Valentines Day. Someone is real creative and they show so many good ideas for Valentine’s. Talked with Lory, so sweet and very helpful even as busy as she was.“

“I've been here before, but gotta admit, it was several years ago! I should have come here more often!! A friend (a regular here) and I split a Monte Cristo sandwich--my first one ever!! “We stopped here for drinks and live jazz. Both were fantastic. We didn't try the food, but will the next time we are in town.

The best part was the bartender. She was so fun, attentive and despite working a very long day, made our evening memorable in the best way possible. We're glad we crossed the river to come here.
