Food is good, but I find it extremely gross they don’t wash the baskets the chips go in after every customer. I have watched them just take the wax paper out and throw it on the shelf.
The last 3 times we were there we received very poor service. They were not busy any of these visits. Wanted to eat on the patio. Took forever for someone to come out for our order. Never came back to check on us or give us our check. Fajitas tasted terrible. Worst fajitas I've ever had. The second visit couldn't get waited on. No waiters to be found. Great food options at La Feria Mexicana! I ordered the torta de carne asada, and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and nice portion. The service was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back!

La Feria Mexican Restaurant offers large portions and quick service, even on busy Saturday nights. The staff is friendly, with a welcoming atmosphere, and the service is great. It seems like a good family-run restaurant. The food was pretty good and delicious. Some servers may have off days. The salsa is not too spicy, and the horchata is a hit with kids. While the food may not be the healthiest, it's still satisfying. They have lunch specials which is nice on the wallet. La Feria has the best patio views in Des Moines. You get chips and salsa for the table too. The food is wonderful and overall highly recommend! They also have delicious frozen margaritas and churros.
