“Nite Hawk was one of the highlights in a day where we roundtrip cycled from Ankeny to the High Trestle Bridge in Madrid! Located immediately off the High Trestle Trail in Slater, this place is extremely bike friendly, and a fun stop. We had decided to visit on our way to the Bridge, and about 35 miles later, we were so glad to stop here. Loved the atmosphere, the overall indoor/outdoor vibe. Enjoyed a tasty burger and fries, good pricing and great customer service. I'll visit every time from now on!“

“The food was great! I recommend the Taco Tuesday taco and fried onion rings. The atmosphere was good but it was so noisy that we couldn't have a normal conversation. We asked the server if she could ask the noisy table to lower their voices and she said she couldn't. I know The Clipper is extremely busy on taco Tuesday and that's fine, customers should be respectful and servers should ask people to lower their voice a few notches if they are disrespectful.“

“I’ve been a regular here for years until I moved to another city but I still work in Grimes and I got my co workers food today from here. The bartender was super nice on the phone and in person. When we got the food back to my office everything was perfect. The food was amazing. My boss who usually trashes anything I order if it isn’t something in his usual food places, well he absolutely loved it and said next time we ever get burgers that’s where we are going from this point on! “We chose to check out in a lane that had a first day cashier. The girl bagging the groceries was very helpful to him and us. He accidentally double charged us and the girl took it upon herself to get the approval from management to get it deducted and get us going to keep the line moving!!! Very impressed!! “Self check out normally is a disaster but today I got helped by Michelle.T and she was awesome. She was able to multitask and help with questions along with making sure we got out of there without a hassle. Amazing food and well trained staff. Michelle T working the self check out line on Saturday June 10th was the best so far though“

Their focus may not always be on the lowest prices, but they have a better selection and higher quality product than some cheaper stores. They're not overpriced, just maybe not the lowest. I find them to be a good value for quality and money. Staff is always friendly!“

“One of my favorite bars in Ankeny! We went there last week and got the cheese curds and buffalo wings...and shocking, they might have been the best wings I have ever had! There was live music which was also awesome. Quick service, kind staff. My husband & I had the best date night there (sat at the bar).“

“The atmosphere was very laid back, the food was really good we got buffalo egg rolls, spinach artichoke dip for appetizers I got the Philly cheesesteak and fries and friend got the Nutty Buddy Burger with Cole slaw we really enjoyed both appetizers and our meals. Service was quick and I appreciated how nice our server was also I assume the manager or lead but she kept coming over to make sure we were satisfied and that our food was tasting good! Beerhouse was recommended by hotel desk clerk. We went back after our first night's experience.
