“Our waitress was great. Everyone liked the food. My only problem was the host. He ran around like a maniac. Literally running, he would slam plates down on tables and run away to his next task. It made the atmosphere tense for customers and staff.Parking: You can park in the back and use the back entrance.”

“Are there nicer bars in town? Sure. Are there better bars in town? No way.This is a great bar with a great atmosphere. It's dimly lit, usually reasonably quiet (as bars go), and a little trashy (but in a good way). On the main floor you'll find the bar, a shuffleboard table, darts, jukebox, a couple tables to sit at, and good people. This bar has a lot of traditions and respect for its long time patrons. They often run contests for their guests like the big March Madness shot bracket, measured each night when two shots compete for orders. The second level sports a free pool table on one side, and a lounge area with leather couches on the other side.The bartenders are always friendly and prompt, and there is good conversation to be had with other patrons.OK beer selection, lots of fruity and cider options, but also a good array of heavy beers. I enjoyed a hazy Sierra Nevada IPA and then several Odell 90 Shillings.My friends and I also appreciated the relatively private area for smoking out back.”

From the pink Cadillac on the wall to the small town neighborhood bar feel, this place hits just right. The barkeeps are attentive and polite, and the people there are exactly what you might expect. “I would like to highly recommend Red Fox Hotel and Event Center Restaurant as a great option in Waverly. We go there regularly because the food is always very delicious. We have both tried several dishes and they all have been great.The food comes out hot and is presented nicely. You can tell that there is a lot of thought put into the food preparation and taste. To me, it is comfort food elevated a few notches.They offer a good base menu and add to it with new specials throughout the week. My husband is happy to see a graziano sausage sandwich offered, one of his favorites. Certain nights when we don’t feel like cooking, it is easy to go to their Facebook page and find they are having a special we might enjoy.The atmosphere is casual and it is kept very clean. The staff cleans tables off right away. I’ve never seen messes on the floor.The staff are friendly and attentive when appropriate.The price is right for what they serve and the quality of the product.I’m afraid it may get overlooked because it is out on the west side of town. I’m definitely for keeping places like this open!!”

“This place is wonderful! They are so friendly and eager to help you with the menu. It’s located right next to the river. You must visit here if you’re looking for dessert. I also noticed a gluten free option. And everything we ordered was delicious! Blue raspberry whip is a must try as well as their seasonal pumpkin pie and apple pie snowstorm. Let me repeat, they are so friendly and pleasant. Good service is hard to find and this is why I want to give this place their praise. Thank you!”

“Super good Mexican food if you're in the area.Kid-friendliness: My oldest son has sensory issues and I'm on a diet. They have all sorts of foods to accommodate different restrictions and tastes. My husband loved his steak fajitas. Tres Portillos was absolutely fantastic and my youngest son loved the tacos.”

“4 of us visited around 12:30pm. It was quite busy at that time. We sat way towards the back of restaurant. Our server took our drink and food orders right away. From our table we could see the action in the kitchen. Again, it was very busy, and I believe it was just the 1 woman working the grill. And she was constantly at work. Thankfully we were in absolutely no rush, because it took a long, long, long, time to get our food. And then there was a problem with one of our burgers not included with the group order. The cook came out and told us about that. Seriously, a non issue for us today. We had ordered onion rings, but got French fries. I did not mention the fact to our server, and just enjoyed the yummy fries. I was not charged for onion rings. With all that said, we had a very nice visit, and the food was delicious. There are plenty of other yummy sounding offerings on the menu.”

“As always, the food was delicious. The service was acceptable and quick enough but the music was way too loud... The staff refused to lower the volume at all. My friend and I figured out really quick why no one else ate inside, are least while we were there. We could barely carry on a conversation. Eating inside will not be our choice again.”

“I ordered pickup and the lady was very kind! The food was great, I ordered chicken curry noodles and braised pork. The chicken curry noodle was amazing, it tasted amazing. The pork was seasoned well, but the meat was a bit too fatty. Good nonetheless.”

“Brought my daughter to Tropical Sno and we absolutely enjoyed them, they tasted so good! Got the Sunrise which was so refreshing, and a build your own blue and red raspberry which my daughter loved. Can't wait to go back with the fam to try more flavors.”

“First time visiting Joe's Knight Hawk. As a person whose worked in resturaunts and has family who owns many in the big city I understand how much top service is priority. The Warmth and welcome was very inviting which is a must for a buisness who cares about customers and let's just be straight also for a buisness to make a profit. The place is clean, open and the staff was on point and very loyal. The owners weren't present, but this says alot about them. They must care and treat their employees with top respect and visa versa. Penny who was tending bar was the best! Excellent service. Mark was whipping it up in the kitchen working hard. I notice these things and so their names are worthy. So glad I stopped in! Taco salad was delicious! I reccomend this place. Hope to meet the owners some time! Thank you for your excellent service! “Thirty members of our church group, Joyful Times, had lunch at the Waverly, IA Pizza Ranch after a morning tour. The staff had reserved a back section of the restaurant for our large group which we appreciated. There was plenty of pizza, chicken and side dishes for our large group and the public. The food was hot and delicious and the service was excellent!”

“I hadn’t ordered from the site before so I didn’t have any expectations. There was a 45 min. delivery time but it arrived sooner which is always a plus.The food was good, and it came hotter than expected. Egg rolls are smaller than they used to be, but overall everything was good.”

“I've been to the majority of Scooters locations in the Cedar valley and this one is by far the best. I don't know what they do differently but these guys should be the trainers for all scooters locations!!!!”
