“Always good food, coffee and ice cream treats. All prepared on order. They make soup everyday! Many order to go especially in winter when the small inside area has limited seating.”
“Even though they were out of the item I wanted, the item I bought instead was just as delicious, staff was friendly and the area around the store was well taken care of. Only gave 4 stars because I was sad they were out of sugar cookies ?”
“We always enjoy going to Lu & Als for a home cooked meal around lunch time! Prices are incredibly reasonable & the staff is always so personable & friendly. We have done dine in & take out & have absolutely no complaints with either!”
“This is the BEST restaurant in a little Iowa town! Made a special trip with my 91 year old Mom and her sister to treat them to this experience!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Special wheelchair ramp”
“We went on a busy weekend, so service was a little slow, but the food was so very good we would have gladly waited longer. I enjoyed the Walleye, and our friends had nothing but wonderful things to say for the fillets. Friendly staff, beautiful location, just a wonderful experience, will definitely go again, a out of the way gem.”
“The young man who helped us out at 2:51 pm on 7 Sept was very professional and made us perfect sandwiches. We normally have good service here but today was exceptionally outstanding.”
“Out of all the places I have had Chinese food, this one is by far my favorite! The food is so delicious and for a very reasonable price! The owners are always so sweet when I come in and basically know my order at this point! Definitely would recommend!!”
“Made a stop in Shenandoah and found this little bar. The owner (Sherry... hope I spelled it correctly) was a great lady and she couldn't have been any nicer to us. We are planning another ride that way, and we are definitely going to return for round 2.”
“I always get the same thing, broccoli beef. It is my favorite. I also recommend the egg rolls, crab Rangoon and the egg drop soup. The service is friendly and always in a timely manner. I like the atmosphere as well, although I usually get my order to go.”
“Mondos can be hit or miss. Most of the time for example the chicken is really good, old fashioned fried. Once in a while it's burnt, so if it is send it back and get something else. Prices are STILL reasonable and that's is a huge plus compared to do many other places. Oh, and great breakfast ”
“Great food and margaritas. A few of the servers are kinda lacking tableside manor, might be more of a language barrier?♀️ but generally a great experience. If its chilly outside its usually a lil nippy inside..so best to have a pitcher of ritas to warm you ?”
“Parking: Open parking lot with handicap parking closer to the doorKid-friendliness: No play area, and recent remodel took away the remaining semblance of Ronald McDonald's friends. Very modern, non cozy atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair can be rolled up to a picnic table in lobby. Other chairs are bolted in place. Wheelchair access is available in restrooms”
“Went there today and tried there new candied bacon whopper and I was SO SATISFIED! It was fresh and the employee’s working were polite!Kid-friendliness: they always ask me if I would like a crown! it's a cute extra little touch.”
“We visited the Harbor Inn (AKA Admiral Inn) for a planned event but what a great surprise! The food was excellent and they have preserved a slice of SW Iowa history. The atmosphere was open and comfortable. If you're traveling on Hwy 2 from here to there it's only a slight detour to a wonderful experience. One caution, their hours seem a bit irregular so it might do you to make sure they're open. It's worth your time and effort.”
“Fantastic place to grab a bite and a drink. Staff is very accommodating with table reservations. The peach bourbon sauce is fantastic on wings and with the fries!”
“One of the few things that make living in small farming communities in SW Iowa fun is places like this. Farragut Tavern has great food and pours an honest drink at a reasonable price! Family owned and operated and worth the drive if you're in the area.”
“Living in SW Iowa there are very few places listed on the official Iowa pork tenderloin trail, but when I notice one around, I like to go and check them out. It was good and the wife and I enjoyed it! She had the small with buffalo chip fries and I had the regular with classic fries. All was very good and the staff friendly.NOTE: They don’t take cards.”
“JR was the only drinking establishment next to the hotel. The facility is clean (including the bathrooms) and Carly never let my drink run dry. Stayed longer than originally planned. The locals were friendly and great conversationalist. They even changed a tv to Monday night football for me. They have pizza and wings on the menu, however, I didn’t eat, so I can’t rate the food.”
