“JR was the only drinking establishment next to the hotel. The facility is clean (including the bathrooms) and Carly never let my drink run dry. Stayed longer than originally planned. The locals were friendly and great conversationalist. They even changed a tv to Monday night football for me. They have pizza and wings on the menu, however, I didn’t eat, so I can’t rate the food.”

“Always good food, coffee and ice cream treats. All prepared on order. They make soup everyday! Many order to go especially in winter when the small inside area has limited seating.”

“We went on a busy weekend, so service was a little slow, but the food was so very good we would have gladly waited longer. I enjoyed the Walleye, and our friends had nothing but wonderful things to say for the fillets. Friendly staff, beautiful location, just a wonderful experience, will definitely go again, a out of the way gem.”

“I always get the same thing, broccoli beef. It is my favorite. I also recommend the egg rolls, crab Rangoon and the egg drop soup. The service is friendly and always in a timely manner. I like the atmosphere as well, although I usually get my order to go.”

“Mondos can be hit or miss. Most of the time for example the chicken is really good, old fashioned fried. Once in a while it's burnt, so if it is send it back and get something else. Prices are STILL reasonable and that's is a huge plus compared to do many other places. Oh, and great breakfast ”

“Went there today and tried there new candied bacon whopper and I was SO SATISFIED! It was fresh and the employee’s working were polite!Kid-friendliness: they always ask me if I would like a crown! it's a cute extra little touch.”

“We visited the Harbor Inn (AKA Admiral Inn) for a planned event but what a great surprise! The food was excellent and they have preserved a slice of SW Iowa history. The atmosphere was open and comfortable. If you're traveling on Hwy 2 from here to there it's only a slight detour to a wonderful experience. One caution, their hours seem a bit irregular so it might do you to make sure they're open. It's worth your time and effort.”

“Living in SW Iowa there are very few places listed on the official Iowa pork tenderloin trail, but when I notice one around, I like to go and check them out. It was good and the wife and I enjoyed it! She had the small with buffalo chip fries and I had the regular with classic fries. All was very good and the staff friendly.NOTE: They don’t take cards.”
