We had our first date at a Double Tap in Cedar Falls, IA so of course on August 16th 2022 when we got married we had to have our reception at the Double Tap in our local Iowa City, IA. Super fun drinks, great games, great pizza and super fun bartenders. Best first date and even better wedding!!!“

“Classic dive bar. If it's not made in the fryer or griddle they don't have it. But it's a good stop for bar food if you don't want the bougie food closer to campus. Server was a bit confused but in the best possible way. Too many jobs to remember which bar she was working that day. Teased her a bit and she responded in kind. Love these types of places.“

“My Great Uncle Dave's place. It has one pool table, half a bathroom, and an old school jukebox with Portishead on it. Kurt Vonnegut loved it, and for a long time it was the Writer's Workshop designated hangout. One of the oldest gay-owned businesses in a town with deep LGBT roots“
“I enjoyed my time in this establishment very much, the drinks were delivered on time and in an orderly fashion, the bartender Katherin knows how to make a Guinness draught have a 3 leaf clover in the foam, and the general atmosphere is amazing! There are never too many people here, and they deserve to have more.“

“It’s an ok college type bar with a full menu of drinks and bar food. The simple bar food is adequate, but nothing special. The staff tries to do their best to keep you happy, though. There are many other better places downtown. All our food came out cold. Cheese curds were below average, and we aren’t even picky.
Vegetarian options: There are a few appetizers that are vegetarian
Parking: There are 40 parking spots that are $2 an hour or free after 6pm. There are also several parking garages nearby similar rates with several thousand parking spots available.
Kid-friendliness: It’s a bar, so not too kid friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a nice wide entrance and they have outside seating so it’s convenient to wheelchair users.“

“AMAZING! Stopped in for breakfast. I had breakfast tacos and the hubby had B&G and added fried chicken. Flavor was outstanding and coffee was great and our waitress brought us to go cups. 10/10!!“

“My wife and I went to the Black Angel for a late lunch about 4 pm today. We split a beef brisket sandwich with each us having a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The soup was lukewarm and had to be reheated which was promptly and courteously done, as was all service rendered. This was our only complaint. Everything was excellent. Best Chicken Tortilla soup (not too spicy) ever had, The sandwich was great too. Yum!“

“It's such a great place to get a quick bite to eat! My dad and I go here often since we live pretty close! Never have to wait for a table, and the regular waitress (Theresa, I believe) is awesome! She is personable and always remembers our food and drinks ? orders. Fast service.
