“My husband and I had traveled from Ohio to near Urbandale to visit family and while staying at a nearby hotel, wanted a place for a drink and wind-down. Beerhouse was recommended by hotel desk clerk. We went back after our first night's experience. The (younger) staff behind the bar was excellent; personable, knowledgable, hard-working and a benefit to this establishment. Made great suggestions for food“

“Couldn’t recommend this place enough. We had a wonderful time tonight for a work outing. Called and made a reservation a week prior. Decor, atmosphere, and vibe was phenomenal. Our waitress, Kennedy, was a joy to have—attentive, friendly, and upbeat! Food was delicious! I think that’s one of the best breaded tenderloins I have had. It was thick, juicy, flavorful, and delicious! And what a pleasant surprise to be able to play DJ Bingo while there! It was truly a great time! Will be back!“

“The food was great! I recommend the Taco Tuesday taco and fried onion rings. The atmosphere was good but it was so noisy that we couldn't have a normal conversation. We asked the server if she could ask the noisy table to lower their voices and she said she couldn't. I know The Clipper is extremely busy on taco Tuesday and that's fine, customers should be respectful and servers should ask people to lower their voice a few notches if they are disrespectful.“

“We stopped in for the first time Tuesday night. It was not too busy. We had a dog with us and they were very cool about her being there. We sat outside on the ground level patio. Not very noisy and a nice atmosphere.

Our server was super helpful with all of our questions, especially regarding gluten-free options. Quick to bring out our drinks, appetizer, and meals.

The nacho appetizer was very good and to big for the 2 of us to finish 😉 We wanted to leave room for the main course!
My smash burger was yummy and so was the coleslaw.

“Nick’s is always a win! If you’re there, you are family. The staff truly cares that your experience is spectacular. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is top-notch. Twice a month I meet up with a wonderful friend to sit at the bar, eat some snacks, and enjoy a bourbon or martini while she drinks wine. Even with the rarity of my visits, the bartenders treat me like a regular and work to get to know me. You cannot match the level of service! I typically stay for a short amount of time, eat while I’m there, and also take food home for my high school aged children. The to go food is always perfectly packaged and delicious even if it sits on the counter for a bit while we finish our conversation and settle bills. I cannot recommend Nick’s enough. I almost hate to post this review and ruin the truly beautiful experience.“

“This is a great place to go if you like watching sports. The crowds can be lively and enthusiastic when watching the games, but thankfully not unruly or out of control. The menu has a variety of good burger, pizza, and appetizer options. Our server was polite.“

We told him how talented and amazing he was, and how we needed more good people like him in the world to brighten our day. He than said something along the lines of “you never know what a person is going through that day and I try to do good things for people” which We thought was so kind and really did make us feel special. Their focus may not always be on the lowest prices, but they have a better selection and higher quality product than some cheaper stores. They're not overpriced, just maybe not the lowest. I find them to be a good value for quality and money. Staff is always friendly!“

“This is your standard downtown hotel bar / lounge, However, the service here is polite, fast, and attentive - while the food is honestly amazing. Get the burger and fries, hands down the best burger I've had in years and the fries were even better. I believe they cook the fries in animal fat which adds a crispiness like no other. Decent selection of beers, wines and a full bar with a clean and spacious interior round this place out. In my 20 years of business travel I have never experienced a Hotel Lounge like this“
