We were in Waterloo for an appointment and I googled "best tenderloin in Waterloo" and found Southtown restaurant and bar. The tenderloin is breaded in house and really good could have used a little bit more seasoning (like most in Iowa) but a really tasty sandwich. The onion rings are homemade and phenomenal! Wife was happy with the cod dinner she got too. We got a couple pieces of pecan pie to bring home. They were delicious. Beer selection was kinda limited (another Iowa thing.)...read full review

We stop in every time we stay and the Comfort Inn 1 block away. The service is top notch and the food is great, especially the burgers and the nachos. The prices are also reasonable. We always have a few drinks from the bar and have not been disappointed yet.
