“This place is really good. My husband and I go here at least once a week or more. Our favorite is the chocolate-peanutbutter-banana smoothies. We are both diabetic and this only has 2 gm of sugar, 30 gm protein. It fills us up.“

“Mystic Café is one of my favorite coffee shops in Lewiston because it actually feels like an independent local place instead of another polished corporate chain.
The atmosphere is probably the biggest reason. There’s artwork everywhere, interesting decorations on the walls, multiple seating levels, and enough little details around the café that you keep noticing new things even after several visits.
One thing I’ve always enjoyed is the live music. On certain Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights they’ll have musicians or bands performing, and there’s even a piano inside the café. I’ve seen a pretty wide mix of local performers over the years, and it gives the whole place a fun creative energy that’s hard to fake.
As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series, I spend a lot of time writing in coffee shops while traveling, and places with actual personality always stand out more to me than perfectly polished modern cafés.
The layout is fun too because the café opens up more the farther you wander inside. Different seating areas, upper sections, little corners to sit in. It feels bigger than it first looks from outside.
The food and coffee have always been excellent, and the staff has consistently been super friendly and welcoming. Their hours have shifted around a bit over the years, so it’s worth double-checking before heading over.
Funny enough, creative coffee shops and music venues like this probably influenced parts of the atmosphere in the Paris Nights Romance Series more than I consciously realized while writing.
Definitely one of the more unique coffee shops in the LC Valley and the kind of place where it’s easy to stay longer than you planned.“

“I usually have no problem with McD's, but lately they have had a problem with drink orders. Messed them up 2x last week. Today went for coffee for the boys and I and got home and mine was wrong. I wanted a peppermint mocha with lowfat and no whip. I had whip and does not taste lowfat. Getting fed up.“

“So, my husband and I had an ice cream cone a little more than a week ago and we were not happy with the dense ice milk substance that we were served with. This McDonald's has always given us the best service! I wrote a complaint and sent it to corporate and they asked if I wished to be contacted and I said yes. Once again, we were shopping in Lewiston this weekend and stopped for another cone. THEY'RE BAAAACK! It was delicious! Smooth, creamy, tasty and we were very happy! Today I received a call from Lindsey and she apologized for the malfunctioning of their ice cream machine and is sending us a gift card! Yay! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thank you, Lindsey for taking the time to call and explain and for your professionalism!“

“Whenever I travel to Lewiston I make it a point to visit Blue Lantern Coffee. Its location in a historic Bank building in downtown is a special treat! The coffee and Scones are tremendous. I’ve travelled to London, Paris, Sydney, Auckland, Hong Kong, and Bermuda. The Blue Lantern is as charming as any of the patisserie and coffee houses I’ve experienced Worldwide. I can’t recommend Blue Lantern coffee enough. You will truly cherish your experience.“
