The food tastes amazing and there are large portions
The food here is usually very good. It's better than other Chinese places. Today though the rice was very dry.
My husband and I went here for lunch. The food was excellent. We had just about given up on Chinese food in are area. Thank you for surprising us how good Chinese food can be. We definitely will go back. Good service Good food🥡🥠

Gourmet House is a fantastic restaurant that offers delicious Chinese cuisine. The jasmine tea with lemon juice concentrate is a refreshing treat, and the wonton soup is amazing. The orange chicken is a standout dish, and the crab rangoon has also received high praise from customers. BBQ pork, sesame chicken, and BBQ chicken sticks are other favorites that exceeded expectations. The salt and pepper fish, although not on the menu, was specially made for a regular customer who now loves the dish. The lunch specials are affordable and include soup and an egg roll. Delivery is fast, with many loyal customers noting that there has never been a disappointment in their orders. The drive-thru window is a convenient option for pickup.
The restaurant accepts reservations for parties of all sizes (around 70 people). Birthday reservations can be made in advance to receive surprises, free photos and free gifts. The photos can also be left on the photo wall as a souvenir. At a time of bland global chains, Gourmet House is among Algonquin's distinctive, local gems of the Fox River Valley. The generously-portioned lunch options are served until 3:00 PM. The clean, welcoming, tranquility of the dining room transports one out of the ordinary, far-flung suburbs of Chicago and into the rich exotic flavors of Asia. The tables are thoughtfully set with beautiful blue glasses, white linen tablecloths, and quality dining ware. This is one of the few places you can still dine without noisy TV screens blaring and flashing ads in your face.
