“Lily's Panaderia has been open for many years. If you are a loyal customer or have visited the bakery, You’ll recall the old location being small and cozy. Their new location offers more space for customers to enjoy their freshly baked treats alongside a cup of coffee to start the day. If you like a savory treat, I would recommend the bread with cream cheese and jalapeño. For the sweet treats, I would recommend the conchas. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try real authentic Mexican bread here in STL. Lily’s panaderia always excels in taste and presentation too.“
“Places like this are why I'm happy to live in St. Louis. Planted only minutes away from downtown sits a cozy little country style restaurant.Between the eclectic decor and very kind owners I felt like i was sitting down at their kitchen table for a farmers breakfast. There is a small bar off to the back with a lively bunch who seemed like regulars. Off to the side you'll notice a counter with fresh baked pies and bread. Everywhere you look you can feel how much love the owners put into this place.I find myself stumbling into restaurants, wiping sleep from my eyes, muttering coffee please, when most people are going on their lunch break. If you like afternoon brekkie like I do get the farmers choice breakfast. It samples a bit of everything, including either biscuits and gravy or a pancake. The sausage patties are hand made, not some frozen meat pucks. The bacon is THICC, the tattors are crispy, and you can tell the eggs are farm fresh. Their giant fluffy biscuits are even made from scratch. My favorite part of my experience was finding out they make all their hot sauces in house. The garlic Zucchini and mango habanero pack just the right amount of heat. They have an even hotter one which was a bit too much for me, but definitely not overbearing. If hot sauce isn't your thing they even have a smoked salsa you could try.Starting out at the Soulard Farmers Market in 2014 to opening a store front in 2020 these people have built a reputation for themselves and it's no question as to why. I felt like I got a real sense for who they are. Whether they're here serving up smiles or working on their actual farm they love what they do. I'm so happy to have stopped by and got the chance to meet the makers of this incredible establishment. If you're looking for somewhere new to eat this is definitely the spot.“
“I cannot say enough about the staff that I had the opportunity to work with this morning regarding my online order that never arrived...due to operator error!! Upon arrival at 9:15am we discovered my online order had not been received nor prepared.....but the amazing team turned the situation around within less than 20 min. Minutes later I was exiting with 6 mini trios that were gift wrapped, tagged and ready for delivery as scheduled. Thank you to the owner and staff for saving me and fulfilling my order in the most professional way possible. I will definitely be returning very soon - I appreciate you!!!“
“Hands down the best Vegan restaurant I have ever had. Everything I get here never misses. Always tastes phenomenal. I always feel good after eating a nice wholesome meal from here. I have a "happy" tummy ? but all in all my go to place all the time and so happy she has changed her hours so people can catch more of the cooking and desserts. My favorite cupcakes are the sweet potato and the lemon cupcakes. Just so fresh and good. Favorite thing to eat is the Jamaica Kincaid tacos and the oyster mushroom tacos! The Spicy Chikn Sandwich is great as well. Thank you Sweet Art! I will be back for more! ?? “
“For the first time coming here I was impressed. The server was nice and greeted us. She told us about the cupcakes and told us about the popular options. It was a nice environment and they have a nice taste in music. I will be back to get another desert!“
“I am ashamed to admit from the get-go...our food looked so good when it arrived at our table we dug in before taking any pics! Ugh. Once I thought about it I had done enough damage to my salad and plate it wouldn't have been very appetizing. I will say this though...Valentine's Day, sneaking out for lunch with your sweetie, 65 and sunny, AND Union Loafers tees you up for a great day! Happy Valentine's to all and thanks to Union Loafers to making our day even more special. Ambiance is always fun, loud place. We each ordered a chenin blanc, the little gem salad with beets (my favorite salad in STL!). My wife ordered the Turkey Swiss and I had the Bistro Beef. Everything was just outstanding. Of course a loaf of semolina to go. Service was great as always, place was packed. Love, love, love Union Loafers!“
“Protagonist is a wonderful coffee shop in a quaint area of St Louis. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting with various table options and even a whole wall of books you can check out. Service is quick and the food is tasty. The only downside isn’t a terrible downside really, it’s just that they’re very popular - especially with the study crowd - so on the weekends it’s often difficult to find a seat. They have three couches/loveseats which are great until you’re trying to find a seat with a table. They’ve added some additional chairs and tables since I first started going there which has helped. This shouldn’t deter you from going, however, as the coffee, atmosphere, and pastries are worth the wait for a table. Just FYI they don’t have anything that would constitute a meal, just pastries and ice cream…on Sundays I think they have a breakfast taco bar but I’m not sure if that’s still around. All in all would highly recommend Protagonist Cafe!“
“Kruta's bakery has been around all of my life and it is the go to bakery for all of your birthday and doughnut needs. My personal favorite is the jelly filled doughnut. This place is great for getting personalized cakes made. My kids are interested in subculture and they were willing to get creative and make us a unique cake that they would love for their birthday.“
“This place is an experience!! We looooooove our visit. Indoor and outdoor seating, a good amount of space and travels for groups of up to 8. They have an area with games and books you can utilize, there is wifi if you're looking to get some work done and it stays pretty quiet despite lots of socializing. Outdoor seating is so lovely, private but communal, a fire pit is out back in the center. There is food for everyone, focaccia Sammie's which are divine! Gelato, Italian pastries, pizzettes that are ? and so much more. Their coffee is also phenomenal. I love espresso but usually drink mine with cream, however, their espresso is so smooth I was able to have a cortado which is literally espresso with a tablespoon or so of whole milk and no sugar. It was so smooth and tasty. 10/10 would recommend!!Also, I took my younger boys aged 12 and 6. They got gelato and we sat outback reading books and enjoying the sunshine. Very kid friendly.Vegetarian options: Gelato, salads, and baked items are all vegetarian. They even have a vegetarian pizzette option. They have alt milks too.Dietary restrictions: They have alt milks for dietary restrictions and also have gelato and sorbet made with alt milk.Parking: Parking is available at the streets in front of and surrounding the location. There is a parking lot (paid) across the street.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid options, staff were so sweet to the kids, some kids games were available as well. I was comfortable with my kiddos there.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat hardwood floors with a good amount of room to navigate. The front door is not wheelchair friendly because it doesn't have an automatic option and is a double door.“
“I don't know if cheesecake even needs reviewed because I've never met one I didn't like BUT Patty's does it so well. Between my group of 6 we tried just about everything from the banana pudding cheesecake to the strawberry champagne and LOVED it all! Service is super quick as it's in the foundry so you order from the counter and they grab it for you there and we were able to find plenty of seating out front and the general vibe of the foundry was, as always, immaculate. I'll definitely be back!“
“They can make 50,000 cookies in a day. Now that makes us happy!Wanna go back to 1938? Head over to Dad's Cookies in Dutchtown. Dad's Original Scotch Oatmeal Cookies, originating from Scotland in 1900, came to California. Dad's Cookie Company soon embraced franchising, becoming a pioneer in the industry by 1927. During a visit to St. Louis in the same year, a salesman introduced Carpenter's Ice Cream in St. Louis to the flavor of the Scotch Oatmeal Cookie, leading to Mr. Carpenter obtaining the St. Louis franchise. In 1938, St. Louis baker Henry Renz Sr. acquired Dad's Cookie Company from Carpenter's Ice Cream. The Renz bakery on Louisiana Avenue and Keokuk Street became the new home of Dad's Cookie Company. Henry "Hank" Renz Jr. took the reins in 1949.In 1988, the Hastey brothers, another generation of the Renz family, inherited Dad's Cookie Company. Even now, the company offers fantastic cookies in their nostalgic 1930s spot. It's where all the magic happens. The coconut cookie was my favorite!“
“Great cheesecakes and great service! I have ordered from Yummy's several times. Each cake has been great! Actually, I would go as far as to say that it is the BEST cheesecake that I've ever had! I have used the delivery services as well. Each delivery was timely and packaged well. The team is very professional. I will continue to support.Vegetarian options: Vegan and Vegetarian cheesecakesDietary restrictions: Offers Vegan and Gluten Free options that tastes amazing!“
“The only bad thing about this trip was that it took me this long to make it! Me and my teenagers spent the day visiting black owned businesses and Baby Kakez was one of the best!! From the moment we entered the owner smiled at us and engaged with us! We watched an exchange with the owner and a repeat customer, you can tell how good she treats her customers by the way they speak to her! We purchased these cupcakes, a brownie, and some cake pops and not a one disappointed! The strawberry cupcake stole the show! My kids said srarbucks cake pops just fell to 2nd place! And she offers classes for groups, couples, or whatver you got! Please go here and keep going back! Ty for having us!“
“Finally caught them open!!!! First time I tried them was doing Cinco de Mayo and I fell in love . First time I tried the sugar cookies and they are amazing. The second visit I try sugar cookies and the elephant ear. Love this place. Closed on Tuesday***“
“Absolutely phenomenal- the food was incredibly tasty and well-prepared (I ordered the vegan breakfast burritos and later came back for the vegan quesadilla for lunch), and the staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and very friendly and kind.I sat and worked on my laptop at the window bar while eating and enjoyed the sweet, sunshiney cafe environment that looks right out onto Main Street. Highly reccommend and will be a repeat customer for sure. Love supporting local businesses!“
“Very neat bakery which is clearly on the radar for many people since there was a small line when it opened on a Friday morning. The selection of treats is great and the flavors are subtle and nice.Parking: Residental area, so street parking is somewhat limited.“
“WALL OF SUGAR. I walked in and there is this intense and amazing fragrance of sugar. This is my third visit and the cabinets are always full with the most amazing variety of baked goods. I cannot imagine how hard they work to create this incredible variety everyday. Do not forgot to pick up some Bollilos for your homemade sandwiches or tortas. Highky recommend visiting this bakery.“
“The owner was unloading the van early in the morning getting ready to open up shop. I was doing laundry next door so while standing outside smoking I was offered a free plain glazed donut. Of course I took it, it was really early and I was hungry. Before that day I had never tried their donuts and the one I had was definitely delicious and it was cold. I would have given 5 stars but I wanted to first try more of the treats.“
“So I go to the store at Soulards ... and I'm hooked- the product is very good and tasty, while the cause is spectacular. Quite honestly , I just went in and bought some treats I really didn't need just because I now feel compelled to. I'll hopefully share them with others while sharing their mission too. The service is always friendly and appreciative , while surrounding ... hey it's Soulard's Maret! How quaint can you get? Thanks guys!“
“oh my goodness this man makes the best shrimp and tripe!! If you are old school from the hood of Sarah Lou his shrimps are on that level!! if you are old school and loved Mamajama and Ms. Debbie's Trip well this man Tripes are better than theirs. sorry Ms. Debbie but Sterling's Tripe are so good, crispy and does not have the pull!! I wished I had the money to set this man up in a restaurant where people could come and sit down!! He cooking is amazing!! Joann“
“Hello All,We have been driving by this Billie’s Pastries for years. Each time I would say I am going to stop in and try the doughnuts. Well today was that day. I must say they did not disappoint. The doughnuts were delicious. Full of flavor, fresh and simply delicious. I highly recommend you give them a try. Nice friendly environment where you can gather to share a cup of coffee, read the paper and reminisce. They also serve hand dipped ice cream.Blessings and Love!??❤️“
“Small coffee shop in a pretty part of town. It's worth getting a cup and walking the park in the morning. The lattes were very good. Tried the gooey butter cake. It was a bit thin, but didn't feel as overwhelming as other versions.“
“My coworker buys pies from this establishment every holiday season. I usually give them my money and order, they bring the pies back to work. Delicious pies! Yet this year I went myself to tbe restaurant, and all I can say, they are totally rude, and talk to you like your disturbing them. Absolutely rude!!! That's why I cannot give them five stars, felt no hospitality or even given a welcoming smile. Sorry for interruption...I am try to patronize yoir businesses. Especially the man at the window...please adjust your attitude!!“
“A nice treat while at a conference in the area. The coffee was fresh both in the morning and in the afternoon. I also had an oatmeal cookie which was very good. The staff was the best part. As a visitor to the area a bit of friendly conversation can make a person's day. Thank you.“
“It's literally a small cinnabon counter in a gas station, so I'm not going to go on and on about the atmosphere. Also I only ever come to this area at night time so when I get there only the guy who's behind the counter for the gas station is there anyway. Luckily they have everything on the counter so whatever you want you can just grab. I got a single cinnabon with pecans and then a two pack of regular ones for my family. I like that the packaging is microwavable so I can nuke it at work and not worry about anything burning or melting. I've only been in that area a couple of times in the last couple of years, but if I ever am again I will stop without a doubt“
