From them going out of their way purchasing ballons and banners to her complimentary frozen ice cream the service, food and drinks were phenomenal. Very warm and welcoming staff. Very appreciative of your business and fantastic atmosphere. Thank you for this memory. Never felt rushed. Everyone in our family raved on how great it was and was one of our best parties ever. Familiar with their other restaurant in McHenry which is also excellent and reasonably priced. You have to try this place if you like mexican food. A+++“

“I was fan of La Poblanita I always recomended to friends and Family, my wife took me to La poblanita on Valentine's cause she knows I love it, Unfortunately the last 2 times is been dissapointed, food was tasteless and they charged me $.50 for extra lemon, I get it economy is bad, but If you going to charge for something that usually is Free at least let the customer Know, I dont think Im going back 😪😪.“

“Went to the Taqueria in the back of the grocery store. We had the platillos to build your own tacos, carne asada burrito, and tamales to go. Everything was fantastic, and very reasonably priced. Love this place. And good to pick up some groceries too.“

“Arrachera Mexican Grill has been exceptional since the moment I walked in. The service is amazing, friendly, fast, and they’ve treated me very well every time. I even got a free sample of their quesabirria, which came out quick and was delicious.

The consomé that comes with the quesabirria is rich and full of flavor. Not too strong or too light, just a perfect balance. A lot of places struggle to match their consomé to their quesabirria, but this spot really nails it.

The green salsa is creamy and pairs perfectly with their tacos, which are priced very fairly. Some places nearby charge close to $5 per taco, but here the prices feel perfect for the quality and flavor you get. The red salsa isn’t exactly my flavor palette, but that doesn’t take away from how good the food is overall.

I ordered the quesabirria, an arrachera taco, a chorizo taco, a torta cubana, and flan. Everything came out fresh, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The arrachera was tender and the flan was the perfect sweet finish.

As a Carpentersville native, I can honestly say this spot stands out above other established Mexican restaurants nearby. Better quality, better flavor, and better prices.

They’ve only been open about five months, but Arrachera Mexican Grill is already one of the best new spots in town. Highly recommend.“

“A Hidden Gem on Plum Grove and Higgins – A Must-Try!

We recently visited this charming restaurant located conveniently on Plum Grove Road and Higgins, with easy access from entrances on both sides of the building (formerly a McDonald’s). It was our first time dining here, and the experience was fantastic from the moment we stepped inside.

The staff greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. When we mentioned it was our first visit, they went out of their way to explain the menu and highlight the house specialties. We started with chips and salsa, and what a treat! They served four varieties of salsa, each made fresh in-house. The flavors were unique and absolutely delicious—some of the best chips and salsa we've had in a while.

For our main dish, we opted for the fajita combo. The staff kindly asked how we preferred the steak, which we appreciated as it showed their attention to detail. When the sizzling fajitas arrived, they didn’t disappoint. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. The chicken was equally amazing—juicy, well-seasoned, and just as satisfying.

The tortillas were kept warm in a tortilla warmer, which was a nice touch and exactly how I like them served. The sides of rice and beans complemented the meal perfectly. The rice was light and flavorful, and the creamy refried beans rounded out the plate.

The location is just three miles from our house, which makes it even more appealing for a quick and satisfying meal. We can’t wait to come back and try more items from the menu. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check this place out—you won’t regret it!“

“Stopped by on a whim and was very, very surprised. The outside is quite attractive with an outside eating area. The inside is nice and clean with plenty of seating. We ordered chips and salsa, Pollo with Mole, and the Steak Burrito Fajita. The chips are homemade (as expected) and very good. The chicken in the Pollo with Mole was super tender. The mole was rich. It came with homemade corn tortillas. The Steak Burrito is filled with fajita fillings, so steak, green and red peppers, and onions. The flour tortilla was filled and grilled giving the whole a nice smokey flavor. It was one of the very best burritos I have ever had. Look over my reviews. I have eaten a lot of burritos. They have a creamy salsa verde that is great, a very nice Roja sauce, and a hot sauce that is no joke hot. Our server was great and the whole experience was a great one. Will be back soon.“

I also did not have any chicken nuggets from the kids meal, They also had no Lengua tacos and only enough steak to make three tacos. Christian, our server answered our many questions about the food and emboldened us to try selections we’d never had before! I loved the charbroiled skirt steak, ceviche, those pork appetizers I’ve never heard of, and my frozen strawberry margaritas. Others at the table had enchiladas, tamales, sangria and beer. Christian kept it all coming. He made sure to tell us about upcoming events such as taco Tuesdays and live music, including mariachi bands. Oh, sign me up! It also appeared to be family friendly.
