I used to do pest control, so maybe I'm just sensitive to some things. But this restaurant has a funky smell that I commonly found in restaurants that had some kind of plumbing/sanitary issues. It really hindered my experience there.

Service was good. Food was ok, not what we expected. Rice and beans were good. My kids and wife had the tacos. When we saw yellow cheese on tacos we were not expecting much. Most taquerias use more authentic cheeses. Bulls burrito was ok. The steak did not have much seasoning and was tough. It was filled with a lot of onions. The sauce it was covered in was good. All in all way over priced for the quality. Much better taquerias in Aurora and more authentic. Our family agreed even with the Clip coupon we would not go back.

The server and others working were very nice, but the food is average at best. No spices in the food, the salsa is way too tomato based, and the prices are just way too high (especially considering El Sazon is across the river).
The inside and decor is really cool, too bad the food doesn't measure up.

This was the worst food I’ve ever experienced in my whole life. They should’ve just gone to Trader Joe’s and got their frozen meals and brought it to the table. The food they brought was cold I had ordered a Chili relleno I don’t know what the heck it really was inside of it, but it sure wasn’t cheese. No heat in the enchilada sauce, rice was cold , beans were sour . I will not be going back here and I suggest don’t waste your money or go either. I repeat and can’t tell you enough horrible horrible horrible food!

Fantastic margaritas. Queso poblano is so yummy. The beef flautas with rice and beans is very good.

Definitely not the original Taco grande by Don Manuel. They still keep his menu but I guess he didn't pass on the recipes. If you are from Batavia you know what I am talking about.
The food is authentic and delicious.

I am disappointed. We had been to this restaurant a few times in the past and had been happy but recently we went twice, about a month apart, and it was not impressive. Not sure if ownership has changed relatively recently, but it is different. Very small amount of chips and salsa given. Chips were stale and the salsa did not taste home made. We have had much better at other Mexican restaurants of comparable value. What I like about this establishment is the variety of menu selections. Typically I get the Pollo a la Barra which is a spicy dish made with a tequila lime sauce. The last time it wasn't as good as previous times and the chicken pieces had a fair amount of gristle that was inedible. This time I decided to get the Cazadores because of its uniqueness. There is a slice of cactus on the plate. There wasn't much flavor to the dish. The beef was fine, though kind of rubbery, but the chicken had the gristle again, and the pork was basically fat with very little meat. I had to spit a lot of it out. My wife had gotten the Torta Carne Asada. She said the flavor was there but the portion was extremely small: very little meat. I informed the server who said "something should be done" about it but nothing was offered. I informed the person standing at the counter (whom I thought was the manager) on the way out. I think some form of allowance should have been made. We are not people to complain and raise a fuss but I probably should have been more insistent. One doesn't plan on having to deal with this when trying to have a peaceful date with his wife. I think this restaurant has to step up its game otherwise others, like us, won't be back.
