De Mar's in Blue Island, IL is a must-visit for anyone in the mood for classic American diner fare. The restaurant has a cozy, old-school feel that instantly transports you to a simpler time. Every time I sit down in a booth it makes me feel like i can talk about nothing, (a Seinfeld reference). Meat skillet was good but every place I've ever ordered a skillet offers toast or pancakes. Not in this case. For $16.45(cash), they do upcharge for using a card, I expect pancakes.

Last of a breed. Perfect Chicago area family diner. Big menu, tasty food, excellent soup. Owners and staff are all wonderful. It feels like my childhood in there. Blue Island treasure.
