Was on 74 and got hungry stopped at Rookies, what a treat. Service was, had 1 pork tenderloin they pound out, and their own fresh made onion stack. It was very good meal! We bought one sandwich and ordered an extra Bun. No sweet tea, but it is the north.
The food was pretty good for barstyle food. Our waitress was very attentive. And the atmosphere was that of a small town dinner. Nothing really sticks out all in all. We jumped off the highway for a quick lunch while on vacation to northern Illinois. Found this place on Yelp. It was an easy stop off the highway. The owner recommended the tenderloin prepared fresh in house. They were even kind enough to serve it in separate baskets with an extra toasted bun. It was perfect. Pounded thin and served crispy with all the fixings. I also recommend the fresh haystack onion rings! Would definitely stop here again if in the area.
