“We wandered over to Ositos from Hyde Park, to try something new, and loved it. Ositos has delicious food, and really good cocktails in a cozy, unpretentious atmosphere. The service is warm, attentive, and they make you feel welcome like you’re part of the family. Very gezellig! The coquito was a delicious indulgence (I’ll be dreaming about it tonight); the pumpkin burnt basque cheesecake a delicious indulgence; the mole rosa, guacamole, wings, and the quesaditzin were all excellent.“
“This place has a very dedicated, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. The signature cocktails are designed beautifully. I love watching childhood favorites (the bartender played Are you Afraid of the Dark) on tube TVs while sipping my favorite adult beverages.“

“This is a review for Nightshade. To get there, you go to the back of Moonflower then through the unmarked black door to the right and downstairs. There are two rooms - one for music/ dancing and the other with small tables for drinks. The night I went the music room wasn’t open (guess you have to know when it’s club night). A bit bare bones in terms of furniture/ atmosphere. But, the drinks were EXCELLENT. Not a huge selection but the table I was with ordered about four different drinks from the specialty menu and they were all better than I was expecting.
Though the downstairs is designed for drinking I saw people eating from the menu upstairs so apparently you can do that.“

“I really love this spot! It’s right in Elmwood Park, so it’s close to home, which is so much better than having to go far for places that are similar. This establishment is two awesome places in one! On one side, you have a bar, TVs and the whole cocktail bar feel. On the other side it’s an extremely lovely European American restaurant! The restaurant is amazing! The food is so good and you wouldn’t expect it out of a restaurant/bar. The spinach and artichoke dip is one of the best that I’ve had because you can tell that it is not store-bought, and that it’s made there! Delicious! They calamari really surprised me though because of how well it was breaded and fried. I have officially put calamari on my list as one of the best in Chicago. The main courses that I tried were super good as well. The Zuppa di Mare/seafood pasta was so elegant and flavorful made with a black pasta, so not only was it good to eat, it was beautiful to look at as well. The cheesecake was the perfect ending to everything. What was surprising though the drinks! They have a cocktail list that you have to try! My two favorite drinks were the P*rnstar and Indigo. They were so good! The indigo was so good that you could barely taste the alcohol, and the flavors were yummy! Try them!!! I was there on a Friday and at around 9 o’clock. Karaoke started with disco lights, and it was super cool. I’d highly recommend this place for a night out where you can enjoy really good food, good drinks, and karaoke! Head here for a great time with friends and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!“

“Great food, and a fun building. I'm a huge fan of chicken sandwiches and the Tokyo hot option was great, very flavorful, but not too hot.
The chicken wings were solid, not the best, but still very tasty.
Would for sure recommend this spot for a tasty dinner“

“Everything was great, with the cheese/foie gras plate and octopus as the standouts. Will definitely be back! We got in line around 5:15 and were one of the first parties in line, which meant we got to sit at the counter and watch the cooking (very cool). If you don't feel strongly about that, probably no need to line up super early.“

“The penultimate neighborhood bar with plenty of characters, shenanigans, and fun! It's our "Just One More" place. Bikers, Rock Stars, and Divas will feel right at home. Live music most weekends, outdoors in the summer in a large parking lot. Everybody who knows, goes there. John & Sparklyn are good people!“

“A family friend took me here with my brother and I am so happy she did! This piano bar has awesome atmosphere and the musicians are so talented, it seems like they can play most songs on the spot. People can write a song request on a piece of paper and hand it to the musicians playing piano with a tip and they will play it! I highly recommend, this place has awesome energy!“

“I attended Davern’s Tavern and Lounge over the weekend for a benefit. Wow!! If you’re looking for a place to hold a benefit, this is it! The outside grounds were very nice and spacious. The bartender and all the workers were so friendly and
helpful. Joe the owner, especially stood out. His love for Byron and this wonderful family was so evident. He was funny and held the guests attention, raising as much as much money as possible for them. He was more than just the owner of the bar, he genuinely cared about this benefit and everyone felt it.“

“It's a pub with a bar and some real good sandwiches. Or just call it your neighborhood joint. Bartenders all nice, lots of stools at the vintage bar as well as separate barstool tables underneath sports TV's at every angle possible. In good weather, daytime or nighttime the back outdoor patio is divine. But the star of the show is Alfredo's superb sandwiches, French fries second to none and excellent salads with top notch protein add ons. Ok, I'll grant you, not a beer lover's paradise (no Drafts) and the small bottle serving wine minimal at best but it's a great hangout with some excellent food at decent prices. And it's a relic of the past still alive!“

“It was my 1st time there. I was there on Saturday, August 12th 2023 from 9pm to 1am.Bartender was very nice, Tony the karaoke DJ was awesome, nice atmosphereand people. Reasonably priced drinks and food was good. I recommend the chicken strips
Parking: Parking lot is a little small, but if you get there early enough you'll have no trouble finding Parking“
