“Wonderful little breakfast nook we took over after weigh ins for Illinois Girls State Wrestling held at Byron High School today. 5 stars highly recommend those swedish pancakes and stuffed french toast”
“The absolute best cafe! Everything one the menu is amazing and the staff is beyond helpful and always happy to see you! I would 100% recommend this cafe over any other!”
“Absolutely delicious food and the serving sizes provide plenty of food to share and enough left for lunch next day. The orange chicken is especially good, as is the pepper steak. The egg rolls are excellent as well. Will definitely be going back.”
“Food is far above expectation for Ogle Co. Dining . Service is fabulous. Downfall is that we have never eaten here and not had super wasted obnoxious beer drinking idiots playing pool. Seems like a bad business plan to drive away people spending lots of money on food for a bunch of people that drive customers away. The pool table is inconveniently placed by the front door so you have to walk awkwardly around a crowd of inebriated fools to get to your table. Every time we have come here people just get up and leave due to the rowdy folks blocking the front door and the access to the gaming machines. That being said. The food and the service (truly a rare find in these parts) outweigh the cons for our family.Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend bringing small children here. At all. My kids are big boys and not sheltered. Normal children would not fare well in this environment.”
“Great place and even better bartenders.. We come here for affordable drinks poured on the heavy side. Love the atmosphere and the people who are here are always fun to drink with. Never had a bad experience here but always end up with a story to tell.”
“Stopped in for lunch and had a bacon cheeseburger. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was clean and friendly. Will definitely come back again soon!”
“There are several bars in Byron, all within several feet of each other. With that said Uptown is the unique one. It has a bowling alley. Also they tend to go off road with their food. The have unique twist on regular restaurant and bar food. They are like the Burger King in the sea of McDonald's. You have to go there at times to break the monotony.”
“If you're a burrito love like me do yourself a favor and get the Burrito Grande. Literally one of the best burritos I've ever had. Their Margaritas are top tier as well.”
“They made the sandwich how I told them to so I can't really fault them if it was bad, which it wasn'tVegetarian options: You can, it's not bad, but you shouldn't because vegetarianism is SINFULKid-friendliness: Good for childrenParking: A little difficult to find spots at times but it's fine most of the timeWheelchair accessibility: You canDietary restrictions: My boy Jerod lost a lot of weight from it so it must be healthy”
“The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome tonight, and the waitress was attentive. We got beer nuggets and a thin crust half cheese, half mushroom pizza. Both were delicious! The sauce was really good and the crust was nice and crispy. The beer nuggets were a pleasant surprise and we’re happy to find a place closer than DeKalb to get them. We will definitely be back!”
“Shout out to Jamie .I called ahead with 20 happy meal orders . With a 15 minute time frame .everything came out perfect everything was correct and she even made sure everyone got the same happy meal toy so there were no arguments .”
“An extensive variety of great crafted cocktails. Food available at Hazel's Cafe just through a common entrance. A great place for friends to gather or to host a group event. Be sure to try a flight of the beer currently on tap. Nice wine selection as well.”
“Today was the first time I had ever been here and I will be going back. The food was very good, reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. It is a great little place to grab some quality food and bonus, they have icecream!!”
“Dining area off to the side of a bar. Soup and salad bar included with entrees. I had a 12oz ribeye steak that was done as requested. The prices are reasonable and the server was attentive. Although this is a distance from home if I find myself in the area I will definitely return.”
“Food was delish, especially the pork tenderloin! Oh and the Philly fries were to die for! Service was so good we decided to go back for another visit before we left town. Go get a bloody Mary on a Sunday holy cow it was ”
“They always have the best and most decadent flavors of cookies. On this visit, I got the peanut butter and Rolo cookie. It was absolutely delicious!!They also have homemade dog treats which my girls absolutely love. I made sure that I stocked up on them!!”
“Service was fantastic. Table salsa was delicious, and the salsa used for the chile relleños is even better. Very friendly, quick service, but I didn't feel rushed to leave.”
“We had just finished church, and were looking for dinner. We hadn't been to La Vigna in a while, so we thought we'd go there. This place is south and around a mile east of Oregon. If you don't know where it is, use your GPS and you'll find it. It's a quaint location with low ceilings, good smells and good food. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted and then seated in the back dining room. The lighting is provided by sconces on the walls, and a lot of Italian lights strung from the ceiling. It's brighter than "romantic" by a little. The menu was interesting - we started with a grilled Portobello Mushroom which we shared, which was in an interesting sauce. I added some parmesan (shaker on the table) which made that even better. While we were waiting for that, a tray of warm bread was provided. Oil and shredded parmesan cheese were already at the table. Yum! Entrees are served with soup or salad - we both had the salad with Creamy Gorgonzola dressing, with the extra crumbles on top. The greens were very fresh, and the dressing was tasty. I went for their Filet Mignon, medium rare, which was served topped with mushrooms and marsala wine sauce. The steak was properly cooked to order, and was quite tender. My wife ordered their Scampi Picatta, which was loaded with shrimp and she said was very tasty. The wine list is a little light with 5 different "house" wine brands, but they did have two different upscale bottles - we went for the Pinot Noir, which hailed from France and had an interesting parchment brochure hanging from a ribbon on the label. For desert, my wife had a cannoli, and had their Raspberry Sorbet. The cannoli was authentic and tasty, but the Raspberry Sorbet was very good. If you like Raspberry sorbet, this is the place to get it. It was very rich. The place was pretty quiet noise level wise, We could hold a normal conversation. The floors are carpeted, which helps.”
“A very wonderful cafe in downtown Oregon. I love the music in the background from the 20s or 30s and the food and coffee/tea is amazing! I got the grilled brisket cheese sandwich and the London Fog. Very delectable!!!”
“It's a good experience bikers, karaoke, nice food, and hosting, friendly place. The most important for me is the one who runs the bar she is very friendly and pretty women.”
“Great place to stop. Friendly staff by herself on a Sunday afternoon, but not too busy. They had a busy weekend and were out of some of the items. We ordered thin crust pizza which was good and the Buffalo fried cauliflower was nice and hot.We will be back to try some of the other items that were not available.”
“Had Drunk Chicken with Zing sauce and it was amazing! Just a little spice with the sweet sauce, loved it! Chicken was great, onion rings were burnt. You win some, you loose some. The onion rings made it 4 ☆ but the chicken was 6☆!”
“A great little restaurant. We went on a busy night, yet the waitress was very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. Good portions, reasonable prices. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in the area.”
“Went there to clean for service hours I chose them every time because they deserve it out of everyone they were so nice and very open to talk about anything they were so nice they gave us free pop and burgers wich were so good tasted like my pops burger's maby even better made with 100% love”
“Bartenders are friendly and remember what you drink. Good selection of music on the jukebox. Crowd is a random mix of young and old. 3 pool tables, 2 dart machines, 6 gambling machines and a shuffleboard table. Plenty of parking. Street parking in the front, parking lot in the back. Like every bar there are some exceptions but it's a nice relaxing environment most of the time.”
“I had left my card at home and the lady that served me was very kind and patient. I ran home and got back in time for my girls and I get our orders. Nice place to go”
“Attended the Haunted Murder Mystery Dinner show and tour, so much fun! Definitely recommend! The ribs by mayor Mike were fall-off-the-bone delicious! Creep vibes 10/10! Such an iconic place to visit and learn about the history of Oregon.”
“A rare 5 star. The service is amazing, but more so is the food. An unexpected gem in the middle of nomansland, Oregon Illinois. Now... for a quick drive out, this hidden gem is in the heart of downtown Oregon, right on Highway 2. Set off on its own, I never would have come but my kid has been here before. The prices haven't been hit by the current economy. Portions are fresh and huge. Be prepared for leftovers unless you are a big eater. The servers are friendly and really attentive. The food fresh, delicious, and prepared to perfection. Seriously I'm a bit stunned and grateful for this find. Oh, and the Chianti... smooth. Again a shock.Vegetarian options: Eggplant parmesan, stuffed shells, pasta, soup, salad, pizza, and appetizers.”
“Solid choice and just ANOTHER reason why Byron, llinois is a hidden gem for food, fun, and friendly-folk.This food compares well with Chucago fare for 40% of the price of those "big city bistros". Great coffee as well.”
