“Bartenders are friendly and remember what you drink. Good selection of music on the jukebox. Crowd is a random mix of young and old. 3 pool tables, 2 dart machines, 6 gambling machines and a shuffleboard table. Plenty of parking. Street parking in the front, parking lot in the back. Like every bar there are some exceptions but it's a nice relaxing environment most of the time.”

“They need to have an online menu so people know what kind of food they have. I have messaged twice now and no response. I have been there once and the food was good but don't remember what all they had.”

“My college son had to use this coffee shop/Internet cafe for a late night e-class. I stopped in to grab a cup of coffee and for a little relief from the cold rain. It was warm, cozy and smelled rich with coffee. He was able to get his 4 hour class in comfortably. The slot machines are on the other side of the establishment and were no bother to his studying. Perfect for what we needed it for!”

“Maxson Restaurant really came through for me this Mother’s Day, and they didn’t even realize how big of a deal it was. My parents recently moved to Rockford, and taking my dad, who has dementia, out to eat can be a challenge. So, I messaged them on Facebook for a reservation, going out on a limb, but they were booked solid. Even though it was booked, they offered to pack up some of their buffet for us to pick up (which I have never had anyone offer before). It was such a relief not to have to take my dad out, and they gave us tons of food AND IT WAS ALL AMAZING! Plus, they were super cool about accommodating my last-minute planning and changing my pickup time because of traffic coming from Chicago. Huge thanks to them! I’ll definitely be singing their praises to anyone who’ll listen, and Mom and I are definitely planning to dine in there soon. Seriously, thank you, Maxson!”

“Boyfriend and I went here for our first time after being recommended by our friends. Walked in and was greeted with smiles and hello’s. Sat right away after we made a last minute reservation 2hrs prior. Server was amazing. Food came out insanely quick and was delicious. 10/10 experience”

“After visiting the nearby rock river dam, we wanted to find a place to cool off and rest before going back out into the heat.

We found this place after a quick search and picked it just because it was the closest spot to us to get out of the muggy weather.

We were delighted to see a familiar bartender who had helped us as a different establishment in Polo. Plus, they had the same menu as the polo restaurant/bar, so we knew the food was going to be good.

We ordered drinks and the fried cheese curds. Everything was good from the drinks and food to the service. We enjoyed our drinks and snacks while we watched the river flow by outside of the window behind the bar. We even spied a deer walking along the edge of the brush.”
