“Service was fantastic. Table salsa was delicious, and the salsa used for the chile relleños is even better. Very friendly, quick service, but I didn't feel rushed to leave.”
“We had just finished church, and were looking for dinner. We hadn't been to La Vigna in a while, so we thought we'd go there. This place is south and around a mile east of Oregon. If you don't know where it is, use your GPS and you'll find it. It's a quaint location with low ceilings, good smells and good food. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted and then seated in the back dining room. The lighting is provided by sconces on the walls, and a lot of Italian lights strung from the ceiling. It's brighter than "romantic" by a little. The menu was interesting - we started with a grilled Portobello Mushroom which we shared, which was in an interesting sauce. I added some parmesan (shaker on the table) which made that even better. While we were waiting for that, a tray of warm bread was provided. Oil and shredded parmesan cheese were already at the table. Yum! Entrees are served with soup or salad - we both had the salad with Creamy Gorgonzola dressing, with the extra crumbles on top. The greens were very fresh, and the dressing was tasty. I went for their Filet Mignon, medium rare, which was served topped with mushrooms and marsala wine sauce. The steak was properly cooked to order, and was quite tender. My wife ordered their Scampi Picatta, which was loaded with shrimp and she said was very tasty. The wine list is a little light with 5 different "house" wine brands, but they did have two different upscale bottles - we went for the Pinot Noir, which hailed from France and had an interesting parchment brochure hanging from a ribbon on the label. For desert, my wife had a cannoli, and had their Raspberry Sorbet. The cannoli was authentic and tasty, but the Raspberry Sorbet was very good. If you like Raspberry sorbet, this is the place to get it. It was very rich. The place was pretty quiet noise level wise, We could hold a normal conversation. The floors are carpeted, which helps.”
“A very wonderful cafe in downtown Oregon. I love the music in the background from the 20s or 30s and the food and coffee/tea is amazing! I got the grilled brisket cheese sandwich and the London Fog. Very delectable!!!”
“It's a good experience bikers, karaoke, nice food, and hosting, friendly place. The most important for me is the one who runs the bar she is very friendly and pretty women.”
“A great little restaurant. We went on a busy night, yet the waitress was very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. Good portions, reasonable prices. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in the area.”
“Went there to clean for service hours I chose them every time because they deserve it out of everyone they were so nice and very open to talk about anything they were so nice they gave us free pop and burgers wich were so good tasted like my pops burger's maby even better made with 100% love”
“Bartenders are friendly and remember what you drink. Good selection of music on the jukebox. Crowd is a random mix of young and old. 3 pool tables, 2 dart machines, 6 gambling machines and a shuffleboard table. Plenty of parking. Street parking in the front, parking lot in the back. Like every bar there are some exceptions but it's a nice relaxing environment most of the time.”
“A rare 5 star. The service is amazing, but more so is the food. An unexpected gem in the middle of nomansland, Oregon Illinois. Now... for a quick drive out, this hidden gem is in the heart of downtown Oregon, right on Highway 2. Set off on its own, I never would have come but my kid has been here before. The prices haven't been hit by the current economy. Portions are fresh and huge. Be prepared for leftovers unless you are a big eater. The servers are friendly and really attentive. The food fresh, delicious, and prepared to perfection. Seriously I'm a bit stunned and grateful for this find. Oh, and the Chianti... smooth. Again a shock.Vegetarian options: Eggplant parmesan, stuffed shells, pasta, soup, salad, pizza, and appetizers.”
“Spent a weekend in Oregon and ate here Sunday morning. Food was good and our waitress was very nice. We will return next time we're in town.Parking: Parking available in the lot behind the building and some on the street. I think street parking is free but not sure.”
“Attended the Haunted Murder Mystery Dinner show and tour, so much fun! Definitely recommend! The ribs by mayor Mike were fall-off-the-bone delicious! Creep vibes 10/10! Such an iconic place to visit and learn about the history of Oregon.”
“Unfortunately this bar has been fairly empty for lunch, but one of my favorite spots for it.Burgers & tacos are really good. Deserves to have more people dining in!!”
“I had the sweet chili wings they were a touch overdone and the sauce was a little too runny but they were still good and they hooked you up with the fries ! The Sam Adams Octoberfest draft was tasty !Parking: Plenty of parking out back”
“I would recommend Hectors! I had the steak tacos and my wife and daughter had the chicken tacos. They all were excellent. Chips, salsa and guacamole was very good as well. I ordered a fresh made margarita and I have to say one of the best I have had. Service was good and attentive. We were from out of town so very pleased we chose Hectors.”
“I stopped at Ogle County Brewery in Oregon after visiting the nearby Lowden State Park on a day trip from Chicago with a friend in the Fall. The weather was nice enough to sit on the sidewalk patio in front of the brewery and enjoy a flight of beers. The brewery is located in a historical brick building on main street in town, but the traffic was not too bad. We enjoyed quite a few beers that we tasted. The brewery appears to be a gathering place for the townsfolk a s we could gather from the stage preparations under way for a music performance. The brewery also serves food, but we did not order any food. Ogle County Brewery is certainly a place to stop by if one is in the area.”
“An extensive variety of great crafted cocktails. Food available at Hazel's Cafe just through a common entrance. A great place for friends to gather or to host a group event. Be sure to try a flight of the beer currently on tap. Nice wine selection as well.”
