“I passed up multiple places to get to this restaurant. I heard great things, and they did not disappoint. I had the henny glaze turkey leg with macaroni and greens, cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, and banana pudding. The food was great! I'm still eating it the third day. They provide a nice, sharable portion of food. I also want to note that the restaurant closed at 8pm but still accommodated orders past that time. Great service.“
“It was delicious!!! Was at the food court at the mall and decided to try it out ..and to my surprise it was really good !! And I’m very picky when it comes to soul food ..I had the fried chicken wing which was seasoned very good and had the Mac , greens and sweet potato’s which was good“
“I gave this place a few tries, one cause I believe it's black owned and I try to support black businesses and I'm not really a sandwich person which is what my associates raved about but my grandmother is so why not. The meatloaf is just a piece of unflavored meat with what seems to be just ketchup on top, baked catfish had no flavor the greens appear to be overcooked and borderline salty spinach. So for sure try those at your own risk!! The batter on the fried Shrimp and catfish were ok, lightly seasoned, u can't really mess up mashed potatoes, I didn't get the gravy I requested so I can't say anything good or bad about the taste of that, the same with the corn, potato salad was blahh and my grandmother did like the corn beef! The staff is ALWAYS pleasant with good customer service which I luv!!“
“You must try the vegan pizza. The worst part of becoming vegan was giving up cheese. I've tried vegan pizza at many places and did not like any of them until trying the vegan pizza at Soul Veg City. They also sale it by the slice. My favorite slices are the veggie, the plain cheese and the jalapeño and olive.“

The food here is always very flavorful and the portions definitely leaves you with left overs. Her chicken is the best I’ve had from any restaurant in the city for sure! “A southside soul food staple that has been in the Chatham neighborhood for a long while now. Lots of love goes into the food, portions are hearty and the rotation menu served is flavorful. Stopped in with a friend on Friday (Restaurant is only open Fri, Sat, and Sunday til 6pm everyday). We were greeted by a nice lil lady @ the door which directed us on how to order and pay. She then seated us after we got our food. I had a great lunch. Smothered Pork chops were so delicious. Black eyed peas and rice had that soul up in it. My only complaint was that the okra side could've had a lil bit longer in the pot. Everything else from the service to the food was fantastic. The decor is a bit dated tho but I'm fine with it. Thumbs up to this place and kudos to the staff for the experience.Vegetarian options: Sides??♂️. Nothing else is really vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Soul food. U might get the Itis.Parking: The lot is small. Only big enuff for maybe 8 to 10 cars. U may have to pay to park. “30-35 & OLDER LOUNGE!! Very lively and fun!!! Remember to call or ask about the certain events for each day of the week (they do have a certain dress code on certain days). GO EARLY!!!! The earlier the better because it can get crowded in the lounge. Food can also be bought here too while having a drink. I enjoy myself here everytime, so this is a nice place to try❤️“

“Me and my wife's 1st time trying this was a little disappointing ..the person behind the counter was not considerate of this being our 1st time. We had questions about the products that are offered and were responded with little no help. The atmosphere was great, and the food was really flavorful. Since this was our first time. We decided to try a different variety of items. We order two chicken wing dinners(including 2 sides), 2 gummies, 2 cookies, 2 beverages, and a bag of chips. You can add hemp to your sauces and beverages. Which is an added bonus. As far as the edibles and the beverages. Since I have a high tolerance, I ordered the highest level that they had to offer. With that being said, occasional cannabis users will most definitely feel the edible gummies, chips, banana pudding, and cookies. They all have great flavor, but I would definitely suggest this for people with low tolerance. Overall, the total was $116. There was a mistake with my order, but the owner came to the rescue and made it right. Even though there were pros and cons, I would most definitely come back again.“
