“Family friendly restaurant. I had the half chicken dressing, greens. Chicken was not hot, and it was in a warmer, greens was okay, dressing was good, and everybody knows, cranberry sauce goes with dressing, the cup, was so small (1/2 teaspoon) extra one is quarter (they don't tell you when ask for it). pet peeve with restaurants stingy with condiments, food not being hot.Try it for yourself.“

“A group of us traveled from out of town to this establishment and we were excited about trying the food. We heard great things about the food, but we were thrown off by the person taking our orders. The gentleman was very snarky in his demeanor. There is another saying I would like to use, but for this review, I will refrain from that language. Although there was a group of us, the gentleman immediately interrupted one of my friends as she was about to place her order. In his sassiness, he made a comment to the fact of “I don’t need a bunch of phone numbers and one payment is acceptable.” We were confused by his statement! The gentleman was under the assumption that since we all came together, our order was one big order. One of our friends had to tell him, “just because we walked in together, don’t assume it’s one order!” My friend further explained that everyone would be placing their own separate order. The gentleman’s initial attitude had us all saying that we would not return. Another friend inquired about desserts and his response was something to the fact “we make enough money on the food!” Well, okay, sir!
Lastly, we all agreed the food was good! Customer service could’ve been better. In addition, if you’re charging me for cornbread, include it in my order. I should not have to check my order. Get it right the first time with all the attitude we received! Please get signage so that people know if they’re supporting the correct business!“

“Definitely a must try ...well a add to rotation of places to frequent. Went on a Friday night and the owner came out to tell us about a few items/ samples. Not only was the turkey tips tender and flavorful, the sides were definitely a costar. Greens and Mac were 10/10. Oh and let's not forget about the cornbread, chef's kiss. Next trip I make that way , the pizza selection will be a next try and I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed.“

“My Mama wanted Hancock candies yams greens and cornbread . I call and spoke with a gentleman and explained my needs and with no hesitation he said I have everything but greens.but I have canbage.i drove to the restaurant fast service and he actually remembered me.i notice they ha e spe gals everyday and there prices was Great!! I took my mom her food to the Westside and she absolutely Lovex everything!!! “OMG!!! This place is the bomb, the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous, the customer service is phenomenal and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for some delicious soul food. I love the dressing, baked chicken, sweet potatoes and muffins. The portions are good, I had enough left over to take some home for a late night snack. Our hostess Ms. Lyn has outstanding service she made sure that my glass was full at all times and that I had everything that I needed. Her smile can light up a room, keep doing a great job and we will see you again very soon. If you have not been here RUUUUUUN‼️“

“I would like to rate this restaurant with 2 stars. The customer service was great. I traveled from Holland, Michigan in search of a good soul food restaurant. I won't go into detail, but I will mention some areas for improvement. The catfish was delicious. The sweet potato had a nice flavor. The Mac N Cheese was tasty. However, the potato salad could use some improvement. The greens tasted like they came from a can and had a lot of stems.“

I only tried the jerk chicken fried rice with the two giant egg rolls. GIANT!!! Egg rolls. Almost the size of a phone!! The rice was 8.5. The portions were for 2-3 people. All for $21.something!!! Will definitely go back. Go before 3. After 3, a line forms.“

“Omg, this food was AMAZING! I’ll admit, I was a little nervous walking in because the lobby wasn’t very appealing—but don’t let that fool you. I got the 2-meat, 2-sides dinner, and wow! The meatloaf was tender and flavorful with rich brown gravy. The chicken thigh was juicy, and the chicken gravy was perfectly seasoned.
Now, that dressing—tasted like homemade stuffing, but I like stuffing if it’s cooked right and it was cooked perfectly! The sweet potatoes had just the right amount of sweetness. Honestly, this place has quickly made it to the top of my list of favorite spots to try again .

“I ordered a Half Slab of Baby Back Ribs, 1/2 lb of Beef Brisket (burnt ends), and a small side of Mac and Cheese. The portions of meat were generous and well-seasoned, generously coated in BBQ sauce, making them quite delicious. However, the Mac and Cheese did not meet expectations and needs improvement. I was taken aback by the restaurant's size; it was quite small. As someone in a wheelchair, I had difficulty making a 360-degree turn due to the narrow waiting area. Despite this, the atmosphere was pleasant, filled with the enticing aroma of BBQ, and the chef was friendly and laid-back. Overall, I recommend Medley's BBQ and plan to return to try their Turkey Tips and Fried Chicken Skins.“

“Forget the girl at Burger King...Noriah ( I hope I am saying her name correctly) at Lawrence's in CC Hills, Illinois should get the soul food employee of the year! She handled about 8-10 customers taking orders, cooking food, chopping up rib tips, slicing cake, grilling fish, boxing food...plus more! I was so impressed! She was AMAZING!
