“Just discovered Bankok Thai Express two weeks ago and can’t get enough of this wonderful Thai food. We are trying something new every other day. Impress with the freshness of the vegetables. The thin sliced pork tenderloin used in the dishes is lovely.
There is only 3 booths for in house seating. We usually dine in although we have ordered takeout on two occasions when we had houseguests

“Hidden on the busy corner of McLean blvd and Bowes rd. Is a pretty decent Thai restaurant. The decor is kind of basic, but the pad Thai and crab fried rice was very good. The rice had a nice fluff and perfectly done texture to it. The pad Thai noodles was cooked perfect, not soft and squishy like a lot of places.“

“Possibly the best Crab Rangoon I have ever eaten. So much more than cream cheese and crab meat. Kee Mao was wonderful as well. Ordered it spicy and was not disappointed. Will definitely go back on future trips to the area.“

I have loved Thai food for much of my life and outside of the city, even after trying multiple Thai restaurants from the North Shore and burbs all around the area, this is hands down the best around! Fresh, not over cooked, spiced to perfection. While I would love to have a go to place closer, we will gladly continue to make the 30 minute drive to Crystal Lake to eat this high quality Thai. Prefer take out as the ambiance isnt spectacular but when we have eaten there, service is top notch.“

So many fresh veggies and the noodles and sauce are delectable! One of my favorite things to order from here. The fried shumai are super delicious too and the sauce they come with is phenomenal. “Dinner | $20–30 Service is very poor here, especially after they hired a new chef who uses garbage ingredients and does not even use the ingredients that is listed on the food description. We ordered the basil Thai rice with chicken after having a good experience the first time with nice large pieces of white meat chicken. Well sadly the second time instead of using chicken, they put a bunch of mushrooms and there are not supposed to be any mushrooms in there and there was not any chicken. So I called and I spoke with Annie, who was supposed to be the manager. She said that I would have my next mail free. So I called today and ordered basil fried rice with chicken. Instead of getting basil fried rice with chicken I got a small container of brown rice plain and then a container of something that looks like ground beef with a few basil, leafs and onion. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever had and it was absolutely not basil fried rice. It looked like they ground up chicken organs, and it tasted even worse. I would avoid this place at all cost because clearly they don’t care about quality and service any longer and when they make a big mistake, they double down and make the mistake again and they don’t really care to make things right.“

“09/2024 update, was having a rushed day so i online ordered....so distracted that i ordered it wrong!! By the time I realized my husband was already on hisway to get it. I called and said have you already made it? They said yes, why did i ask. So i explained what happened, but told them i wasn't upset as i like what i accidentally ordered! They said "ok". You guessed it, it was remade by the time my husband got there. How nice is that???
Everything is amazing . First off they are so excellent with the covid situation. We got the egg foo young there because because our no longer favorite restaurant was closed. Thank heavens they did. I have NEVER had such a light and delicious egg food young in my entire life. It's do good you're afraid to try anything else!Then I find out they have curry?? Holy crap. Fresh veggies and the mushrooms, the chicken incredibly moist and delicious. My son had the kimchi, husband the sweet and sour chicken. We got the dinner specials, which, of course was a huge amount of food...egg rolls perfect, egg drop soup amazing, the chicken fried rice so yummy ?. All of it under $30. Great food great service.“

“I'm vegan, and I got delivery from here on a whim, because they had vegetarian options and I wanted to try a new place. I'm always reassured when a menu has labeled vegan items, so I figured this was a safe gamble. I got the eggplant garlic sauce and it was one of the best eggplant dishes I've ever had. The salt and pepper tofu wasn't what I was expecting, but it was also super delicious. The vegan pho was fine, but I'm not a big pho person to begin with. Plus, the portions are quite generous so I can nibble on it for a few days!“
