About The Downtown Dip

The Downtown Dip offers a delightful selection of hand-scooped ice cream flavors, served by a friendly and attentive staff. Customers can enjoy their desserts outside during pleasant weather or opt for a convenient takeout option. The establishment boasts a wide variety of flavors, including a sugar-free strawberry option, catering to diverse tastes. Reviewers have particularly praised the "Big Dipper," a generous serving of three large scoops, as well as the Bourbon Pecan Pie flavor, which is described as a rich and indulgent treat. The staff is friendly, and the establishment is clean and has a fun, trendy atmosphere. Customers can choose from a variety of hard scoop flavors, including unique options like Zoreo, and enjoy ice cream flights with four flavors. The waffle cones are made in-house, providing a delightful addition to the ice cream experience. Their ice cream is from Wisconsin and is considered some of the best premium ice cream around, offering a good mix of traditional flavors with some new options. Pre-packed pints are available for those in a hurry. Overall, the Downtown Dip is praised for its commitment to providing a memorable ice cream experience, even though some visitors have concerns about the atmosphere inside, noting that staff sometimes do not wear gloves when preparing cones, which can feel a bit gross. Despite this, the ice cream remains delicious and worth a visit, especially for those who cannot have dairy, as there are several options. Families and groups have enjoyed their visits, trying many flavors and having a fun time together.

We love The Downtown Dip, especially the newest location in Marion! We’ve visited several times now—usually to see Bluey and Bingo—and it’s always a fun, family-friendly stop. The only improvement I’d suggest is in the restrooms: there isn’t a changing table, which felt a bit surprising for a spot that’s so popular with families and kids. Overall, though, it’s a place we really enjoy and look forward to returning to.

Yum yum. So many choices we will have to return soon.

The best ice cream in town!🫶🏼
