“Recently moved to this area and this place popped up on a search for vegetarian and vegan food. I pass by on Dixie Hwy most days on my commute to/from work so I stopped in one day and decided to try the vegan gyro on the menu. I’m guessing they used Seitan as the “meat” which was served sliced on a hot grilled pita with tzatziki and veggies and a side of fries. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty and the employees were polite and provided good service. My only complaint, the big ugly squeaky Styrofoam box my food was served in. I would really like to see restaurants do away with these awful containers Not only is it horrible for our planet, Styrofoam contains the neurotoxins styrene and benzene, which are widely accepted to be carcinogens.A for vegetarian options and good serviceF for styrofoam“

“As a vegan it’s so hard to find many vegan options. I was so happy to stumble upon this place . The lady was so nice and patient with me. She even let me taste the flavors to choose the best option for me. I liked more than one but didn’t want them mixed. She hooked me up for sure! I will definitely be a repeat customer. Great customer service is hard to find these days so that alone makes me want to return. ☺️ Thank you“

“An Olive Garden is an Olive Garden. Admittedly, if you're eating in one in the Chicago area, it's probably a matter of convenience and price/familiarity. In my case it was both of those, and not having the time to find a top-shelf Italian restaurant. However, overall this is a better than average Olive Garden in my experience, hence the 5 star.Staff is very attentive, even when it is close to the closing hour. The food is timely in preparation. Nothing was wrongly prepared per the menu or specifications for an OG. When it was asked, they even paid attention to my "Please don't bring me extra bread. I don't know when to stop" request on the first statement, which I appreciate. (No, seriously, I don't. I could inhale their breadsticks in the dozens. I know they're not that good but I just can't help myself. Why do you few loyal readers think most of my reviews are restaurants? Hah.) Prices are exactly as you expect: $20-30 a head unless you're getting fancy.Atmosphere is solid for a small family gathering, and the layout is your standard OG, but it's kept clean and well maintained in all sections of the restaurant. So, if you're specifically looking for an OG (Which I am usually not, but sometimes you get what you gotta get), this one's worth keeping in mind when you're having that inevitable "Let's not go to THAT one. Let's go to the good one."This is the good one.“

“This place is slightly off the beaten path and has a great atmosphere. I love they have a room for cocktails with a small limited menu. You can see the brewery behind the partition window. They also have a second dining area for family and fellow beer drinkers with a bar and kitchen. I'm not a beer drinker at all but the candi crushable and the hazy reign was tasty but had a bit of a strong beer aftertaste. We enjoyed the light and airy cheese curds that tasted like a great-quality mozzarella. Now let's discuss the star of the show which is the Pozole ?? my god it was so delicious. I loved the assortments that come with it. Cabbage, corn chips, and limes. And our wonderful and extraordinary waitress Ms. Megan was so informative and such a kind spirit. Make sure you ask for her!“

“I did a pick up order from here and the food was pretty tasty! I ordered a smoked skillet and it was really tasty and my cousin had the Gypsy skillet. The service was fairly quick I ordered and picked up with 20 minutes. The inside is really nice, I will definitely be revisiting to sit down and order more food“

“Visiting the area and family wanted us to try their brews as one of their favorites. Tried a flight of 10 beers and favs were Tangerine Trackstar, Toxic Words, Lucifer in a haze, Immoveable King, Nuban overlord and the top one Here comes the reaper. We also had the Pretzel and queso for snacks. They were very good and fast. They also had ice tea which is not always available at breweries. I will say the art work gave me pause and some of the names being a Christian but I don't know the background to comment.“
“This place is a hidden gem. My husband and I love this coffee shop. It's in the heart of downtown Homewood right by the Metra. The owner is very nice, and her shop is so cozy with lots of small business made products to choose from while you wait on your coffee to be made.“

“This was my first experience here. The menu options threw me off, especially the French toast flavors. I’m a plain Jane when it comes to food. But the taste!!!! I am a convert. The food was amazing. The staff is friendly and the owner is great. The vibe is next level. I live in the south suburbs but will travel here again.“
“I grew up in Highland with Sweet Tooth right down the street. Summers were full of bike rides with the boys to get some ice cream and a Jones Soda. Today I found out they reopened in Munster, and was able to take a stroll down memory lane. Such a fantastic, caring local business, and I will definitely be returning!“

“Ate at the revamped True. Been going here since it opened as Charlie’s Ale House. This is my favorite reiteration of the locale. Had the Chicken Marsala and it was wonderful, and I’m a harsh critic on chicken Marsala. It was true Marsala reduction and not some gelatinous goo with mushrooms. Cindy, our bartender was awesome. Great mixed drinks, had one of the best old fashions I’ve had, and certainly the best in NWI. She was fun and positive; just added to the whole experience! Oh and they still have some of their best Tru BBQ items on menu still as well!“

“Amazing food, super compliments to the chef and crew. The young lady at the cashier area who took our carry out order was delightful and helpful. Compliments to whoever hired her. What she is being paid, it is not enough. That front and center contact sets the whole atmosphere. Our first time visit. Our new go to preferred carry out place. The menu was so extensive it will take us a long time to get tired of it!! Love it, love it. PS. We have NO family or friends who work or own the place. This is a real and sincere customer!!!!!!!!“

“Solid breakfast establishment. The soup was a little salty but it honestly hit the spot. I had already almost finished it before I took a picture. I ordered strawberry crepes. They were delicious and actually fresh. I asked for whipped cream and got it. Fresh fruit as a side is not worth it. I got a few pieces of honey dew and cantaloupe and grapes...nothing worth writing home about. Staff was noticeably spread thin. It's not great for large groups.“

“This place is great and the food is awesome, but this NEEDS to hire another waitress! This poor waitress here is the only one by herself all the time! This is just so rude to do to one person. Fix how you run a business or you won’t get any of my business and I come here every week“

“I had the tofu sandwich and seasoned fries, and both were delicious. The whole menu is vegan, which is a rare occurrence in or near Chicago. I'll definitely be coming back to try their juice drinks too!I forgot my wallet at home, but they also had cardless paying options so it wasn't an issue.I like all the plants around the restaurants. The whole experience was very natural and refreshing.Vegetarian options: Fully vegan menuParking: Parking lot is a bit tight.“

“La Voute is a hidden gem in the south suburbs. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our seafood- centric dinner. My appetizer was a special for the night. Mushroom risotto with scallops. The risotto was creamy and flavorful with slices of mushrooms. The grilled scallops were perfectly cooked. My husband had the mussels in white wine, which he said were delicious and garlicky. I had the salmon special and he had the mahi-mahi special, which were recommended by our waiter. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. We split a crème brûlée for dessert. It was a creamy not-too-sweet end to a great meal. Presentation of each dish was beautiful. We will be back!“

“This hidden gem reminds me of New Orleans style cafe.. good atmosphere, delicious food, great service. Although our waiter Jasmine seemed to have an attitude, I think maybe she was a lil overwhelmed w how busy it was. I'm definitely returning back to this establishment because it's so many delicious items I was try. I had the shrimp and grits, and when I tell you that cajun was ??, I started sweating immediately but it was sooo good!! The fried green tomatoes was a hit too. I believe this was an black owned restaurant“

“First Note: Carry-Out Only (Atmosphere is a 4 star with that caveat and won't be delved into). So, keep in mind you're ordering to go.So, this is your traditional Mandarin for American Pallets. Your options here are all what you expect (which of course means that there's always a couple dishes here that are different than what you expected because local recipes do vary, so check the contents and test around.). All of the food is made hot, and it's made good with fresh ingredients. For the price tag you're not making a bad choice at this location.Honestly, I hope that they're able to get the floor opened up again sometime in the near future. I understand why it's not available, but this would be a nice place to dine in with friends, and it's a shame that's not possible right now.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available, but check the menu and speak with the staff to be sure. If you have food allergies, I recommend speaking to them about it first.“

“We had a great time celebrating my mom's 67th birthday at Asian Harbor Restaurant in Homewood, IL! The restaurant was beautifully decorated with modern Asian flair. The waitress was very engaging and entertaining! Although it was crowded in the restaurant, we were able to get seated fairly quickly, and we felt like we received VIP treatment! The food and beverages were EXCELLENT and quite affordable! Everything we ate, including the seaweed salad, crab ragoon, pot stickers, egg foo young, pad see ew, orange chicken and the specialty shrimp dish that was stir fried at our table was SUPERB! We will be returning! It's a nice family restaurant, so go and have a great time!Wheelchair accessibility: My mom felt comfortable because the ramp and the wide tables accommodated her wheelchair.“
