Hidden Manna Cafe Reviews
I was there today my 1st time picking up the gumbo for family who had visited before and liked the gumbo so I decided to try the red beans and rice BAD idea it was dry had NO flavor had no andouille sausage as described and tasted like water 🙃 I asked for cornbread and was given burnt nasty Italian seasoned bread because it definitely wasn't garlic bread not good for me but my family said the gumbo was good.
I had the best meal today at Hidden Manna Cafe.!! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful! Our server was so sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend this Cafe and I will DEFINITELY, be going back!!
Delicious food and great service. Buffalo mushrooms, jambalaya, and gumbo were all wonderful.

Hidden Manna Cafe is a restaurant that serves a mix of dishes, including red beans and rice, greens, potato salad, catfish fillet, and chicken soup. This cozy spot in Old Matteson offers fantastic Creole-inspired dishes, with food that is often praised for being delicious. Many customers enjoy meals like catfish and grits, which features chicken sausage, and the gumbo. Some reviewers have found certain dishes, such as the chicken wings, to be bland; however, others highlight the kind and attentive service from the staff, often described as excellent. The atmosphere is lovely, providing a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant can efficiently accommodate larger groups, making it a great choice for celebrations. Nonetheless, some guests have noted that popular items can run out, which may affect their experience. For those who prefer vegetarian options, the grits Yaya remains a delicious choice that includes zucchini and other veggies. Additionally, the menu features standout appetizers like fried green tomatoes and fried mushrooms.
