This place is wonderful. I've now been several times, with a friend of mine from Guatemala, and she says this is the best place in Chicago for "taking her back home." We've really liked the pupusas, tacos dorados, the hilachas or carne guisada (either one), dobladas con pollo, garnachas, and platanos fritos. I must add that we haven't explored the entire menu. This authentic Guatemalan restaurant is a hidden GEM in Albany Park! The food is incredible and i am obsessed with their banana leaf wrapped tamales. The staff is super efficient and friendly. I highly recommend it to everyone looking for authentic and delicious Latin American food.

Amatitlan is an amazing restaurant! The food, flavor and hospitality is great. Everything is made fresh to order. I've come with my family and alone and it's always consistent. My sister says the churrasquito Chapin is delicious! My go to are the pupusas which have so much flavor. There's plenty of street parking.
