We wanted to get Tapas to celebrate our son’s birthday. We thought we were getting Spanish tapas, but were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Avaspi. We ordered a little of everything and everything was amazing! From the chicken kabobs to the stuffed dates, our 3 teens and us had a fantastic meal! We will definitely be back!
So nice to find some thoughtfully prepared Turkish food in the neighborhood. I'm happy with food truck kebabs, but this is the real deal, with a wide variety of dishes that you won't find at take-out places.
The Mixed Meze is where you should start—a combination of ezme, humus, baba ganoush, haydari and muhammara. Ask for more bread at the start, because you'll need it.

On the evening of July 5 my wife and I tried Avaspi on Belmont Avenue in Lakeview for the first time. It will not be the last!
I love lamb and am quite particular as to how is it prepared. The “lamb delight” menu item was the best lamb I have ever had in a restaurant: tender, succulent, and prepared to perfection.
