We had a great meal at Big Jones. We shared several appetizers and sides, and everything was delicious! My favorites were the pimento cheese, the cheese grits and the pickle tasting. Oh and the chocolate pot de creme covered in chopped pecans was to die for!
Went on a Thursday evening. Pretty empty for the most part til about 7:30. The restaurant was freezing cold and they were trying to get the heat going. We ordered the fried chicken, cornbread, mac and cheese. The chicken was really good. The mac and cheese was virtually inedible as the salt factor was so high. One bite was all we could manage. The cornbread was a big disappointment, as it was savory instead of sweet, with hardly any corn kernels. Left that without eating as well....
Friendly and welcoming service, delicious food that includes classic Creole and Cajun food and fun twists on them. Arriving early, hungry and thirsty, I ordered and was quickly served creamy and perfectly pimentoed cheese with homemade benne crackers and a delicious riff on a Sazerac made with a hint of apple brandy. My dining partner enjoyed the crawfish étouffe while I had a mildly spicy crab-stuffed flounder special. Don't miss the greens and cornbread, or the indulgent...
