I found this gem about a month ago and I have been here several times in the past month...and I live in South Carolina! If you have not found this place - RUN to them! Their food is amazing. Their French Onion soup will bring a tear to your eyes... and their Cornish hen is out of this world! Graham and his crew here are kicking out some amazing food you can't find everywhere in Chicago and this place is becoming a fan favorite with our company and some of our vendors/partners. Great place to take a client, date, or just some friends.

I am not sure where to begin. We saw so many places that looked appealing and selected here because of the photos and great reviews. The staff were so welcoming and kind. I am not sure how they have built such a business but it is absolutely amazing to experience. The food tops the charts out of the week we have been in Chicago to visit and our waiter really took his time helping us to choose what we had in mind that night. The aged pork chop and ribeye steak was truly incredible. We hope you make it in to enjoy this exceptional place. Thank you all so much for making our final day and visit in Chicago so awesome.

This place is one of the few reasons I want to return to Chicago. The food was incredible. Attention to detail in everything even makes it to the burger and fries. Fried in beef tallow on the fries? Incredibly delicious and healthier than the industrial soy/corn oil restaurants love to use. The only bad thing about it is now I am looking for this level of quality everywhere but can't find it.

Very cool place in a very cool building. Menu isn't extensive, but they hit the highlights, and all our dishes were top notch. They also have a nice looking bar area that we've made a note of for the future. Wine list is great - nice selection of high quality bottles, but some affordable ones too that will satisfy most of us. Service was pleasant yet very slow, but we should have probably noted that we needed to be out in less than an hour forty. Overall highly recommended.

What a wonderful experience at Bistro Monadnock. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough! We had lunch to celebrate a special occasion. The food seemed carefully prepared and was beyond expectation! The chef brought our oysters and was kind enough to talk with us about his love of oysters and his priority to choose them carefully. (Best oysters I've ever had!)
The escargot had a tiny puff pastry topping that hit the mark! So good. This restaurant rivals and exceeds dining experiences that we have had in Paris. We can't wait to come back with friends. The Monadnock building is a gem in it's own right- historic architecture and filled with carefully curated shops (shoe maker, suit maker, cute boutiques, etc.) make this a true Chicago experience for locals and visitors. Oui, oui, oui!!

Solid option in an area where it's tough to find a good place. Classy, intimate, cozy. Well crafted cocktails. Tasty food, get the shooter.

Found Bistro Monadnock simply trying to find a bite to eat a little later in the evening. The Bistro Burger with a side salad was excellent. Perfectly prepared burger and a nicely proportioned salad was a great compliment to the Old Fashioned to wind down a long day. Will be happy to visit again ?

Absolutely delightful dining experience! My husband and I enjoyed the perfect date night, starting w their funky and delicious version of an Old Fashioned before moving onto a French red to go w their puff-pastry-topped escargot. Exquisite! The French onion soup had a rich, dark, broth and the lobster bisque was heavenly. We split the Cornish game hen for our main, which proved to be the quintessential French plate: simple game prepared with wild mushrooms, pearl onions, and roasted potatoes with a sauce that was absolutely remarkable. The crème brûlée was served cold and sans fruit garnish, so that felt out of place in an otherwise stellar meal. Meanwhile, the profiteroles were the perfect pastry, especially when opting for the caramel-like dulce de leches gelato as the filling. Rich and yummy! I only wish this restaurant were open for brunch on Sundays, as I know my fellow congregants at Old St Pat’s Cathedral would love an option for post-Mass Brunch!
