While I was working at Northwestern on 29FEB2024, my manager went to Blackwood BBQ for lunch. She had tacos and I had the burnt ends salad. We enjoyed our meals and appreciated how quickly our food was prepared. The NC bbq sauce was like traditional Eastern NC vinegar sauce and very good. Thanks to Blackwood BBQ for a taste of home while away from home!
Real nice staff. Good barbeque. Pricey, but hunks of slow cooked meat tend to be. A bit on the peppery side for my liking. Brisket melts in your mouth properly, unlike other local barbeque spots.

I was trying hard to be vegan, but Blackwood made it impossible. Sold out of Jackfruit, so I had no choice but to enjoy the most tender corned beef I’ve ever eaten. Will likely have to come back to Chicago next St Patrick’s day to lapse on veganism again.
