We had a fantastic experience at Buona Terra Ristorante. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere felt warm and authentic.
Michael, our waiter, was phenomenal attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He truly made the night special. We’ll definitely be back!

Our whole experience was truly sublime. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who graciously found seats for us at the bar while we waited for the table. The drinks were original and delicious. The wine list was varied with something for everybody. Once we sat down the sensational service continued with our server. He was patient and extremely knowledgeable demonstrating full familiarity with the menu items answering any questions we had with ease and agility. From soup to nuts every bite was outstandingly excellent. As an added bonus the owner continually made the rounds making sure every table was happy. If you want a culinary experience exrtoadinaire then Buona Terra is the place for you.
The service from the hostess to the waitstaff was excellent. Very attentive but not overly friendly. The food was excellent, the restaurant deserves another visit.
Came for restaurant week and were absolutely blown away! We found the value to be unbeatable, and Buona Terra is incredibly unique for allowing guests to pick any appetizer, entree (even daily specials and the steak are included), and a dessert for $45 (their restaurant week deal). I ordered the mussels for my appetizer and was completely blown away, the very best mussels I have ever had. We made a reservation again for this week because we are so excited to come back and try more!
Came for restaurant week. Delicious food! Started with an appetizer each (had the black mussels and the Arancini) for entrees my husband had the steak and I had the veal ravioli(so so good!) We also could t say no to desert and had pistachio gelato and an Amaretto baked chocolate custard, to die for !!
Service as well as everything I've ordered over my last few visits has been amazing. Great for a group dinner, a girls' night out, or a date night. Love this place.
We decided to try Buona Terra during Restaurant Week. Although the place was packed, the staff was gracious and attentive. Their RW offer was great - ANY appetizer, entree & dessert for $45! And the food was wonderful - we started with arancini and fried calamari, which was flash-fried to be light & crispy. Entrees were linguine w/white clam sauce and frutti di mare - good portions and garlicky good. Dessert was cannoli and tiramisu. The tiramisu had a bit more cream than I'd like, but the cannoli was perfection. We'll be back!
The food was outstanding, and their restaurant week deal was amazing. It was exactly what we were looking for on a cold, snowy night.
The first time we went we loved it so much so we went back again. The second time we were sadly disappointed! There was a special burrata appetizer that was $20 that came with crackers that were dry and hard, three pieces of prosciutto and random slices of tomato on the plate. It just didn’t seem like a $20 plate to me. Also we ordered the pork chop which was overcooked and the “gnocchi” side was so hard and burnt that we couldn’t even chew through them. I asked the server if the gnocchi was meant to be burnt and cooked extra well done and he said yes so I didn’t want to push the issue further. We left it all on the plate. For me as a server that would be a red flag to ask if there was something wrong but that’s just me.

Food was delicious, service was great, and the owner stopped by to check on us. The acoustics lend the restaurant to be slightly louder than I would like, but overall, a great experience.

My family has been eating here since I was a baby and they were in Logan Square. Hands down the best Italian food in the city!! My favorite dish is the linguine in white clam sauce

This was our first time at Buona Terra and were all blown away by it! While very unpretentious and reasonably priced, the food was exceptional. The fried calamari (and homemade cocktail sauce) were perhaps the best I've ever had, and the spaghetti ai gamberetti was wonderful : perfectly cooked and generously portioned shrimp, fresh ingredients in a subtle and delicious sauce. And the profiteroles were a terrific cap to the dinner. Plus, the service was great - attentive but not rushing us through the courses. We will definitely return!
Overall as always a great experience. Food is amazing. Staff is very pleasant and the atmosphere is great.
Been coming to this place for over 20 years the food is always fresh and excellent service is great. It’s a little bit of a drive for me over an hour but well worth it would recommend 10 out of 10.
