Cafe Yaya is a warm, inviting, and standout restaurant with a relaxed, thoughtful atmosphere. The space is excellent for lounging and social time, making guests feel welcomed and wanting to linger. The food is fantastic, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care and intention. Dishes are plated nicely and every dish tried is delicious. Must-have items include the Yaya Fries, delicata squash, chicken, baklava, Junbug Kombucha, challah french toast, lamb merguez sandwich, orange blossom babka, shakshuka bun, cinnamon roll, and lamb blt. The pastries are unique, award-winning, and excellent, with special callouts for the incredible babka and the standout cinnamon bun. For brunch, the menu is large and includes items from other menus.
The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, sociable, and amazing, contributing to an overall wonderful experience. They are very careful with dietary needs, taking allergies seriously and accommodating requests. The playlist features a mixture of Soul and Philly Hip Hop classics. The restaurant is attached to Galit. Parking is paid but can be surprisingly easy. Before 10am they serve breakfast only with open seating where you order and pay upfront. It is on the higher end price-wise, which some find hard to justify, but the quality more than justifies it for a truly great food and lovely experience. There is a service charge in place.
