I came here for the first time with a date. I got the kung pao chicken, hot and sour soup and peach green tea. My date got ox tail dish along with Peking Duck along with a mango smoothie. All the food was disgusting. We taste tested it, no we did not eat any of it. We contacted the waiter and made him aware Everything was terrible. And he started yelling at us saying he wouldn’t take anything off the bill (we weren’t trying to take any of it to go or eat any of it). So the old, balding guy waiter screamed at me saying there was other ppl eating and not complaining but it was literally the only place open in the middle of the night. My date was embarrassed he took me there then paid over $70!!!!! We ended up leaving all the food untouched on the table and leaving. Bad service, horrible food. Never again. Any China buffet would taste better than this place. Steer clear, and that waiter is a loser. They need to hire better staff. They could’ve at least apologized for the terrible food and at the very least took one dish price off.

Usually this place is a home run when it comes to the food, but Today was different, the flavors were subpar and my partner was chewing on a bag from the Oxtails.

Delivery driver direct from the restaurant forgot my drink and didn’t even care to call and tell me. In addition, the order they gave us was wrong and 40 minutes late from the original ETA. Keep in mind I am a regular customer at this restaurant and I was told the best they can do is take .80 cents off my order for the inconvenience. That was after negotiating from a .50 cent discount with the owner. The literal OWNER of the restaurant said that to me on the phone call after his delivery guy made the mistake. I have never seen anyone as disrespectful in my life, I had second hand embarrassment for how he runs his business. Besides the terrible service and money hungry owner being a problem, the food has gotten worse over the years after 2020 covid and the management team has no care to respect their regular customers it seems like anymore. I will take my business elsewhere where I am respected at China town, I highly recommend the spot Joyee just across from them. It’s cleaner, nicer, and the workers have respect for their clients and plenty more food options

I've been here three times, and each time the quality has degraded. Every time I got singapore noodles, and on my third trip, there is less than 50% the pork there was on my first trip. The staff is also not as nice/polite as they used to be.It's still a decent restaurant, but I don't think I'll be back unless it's the only place open (since they're open late)If you can, go to Lao Sze Chuan instead. They have just as extensive of a menu with similar prices, but nicer staff and not skimping on the meat.

I used to love Chi cafe. The last three times I've been turned away at the door. Today was the last time I'll be back. 1:30 with a half a dozen open tables, turned away again. If your not open until 2, change your hours.

The food quality seems to have gone downhill quite a bit since COVID. The congee seemed to have more ginger than meat, and the meat itself was either overcooked or poor in quality, as the texture was a bit off-putting. The fried fish filets arrived unganished and plain, but was actually the star of the meal, as it was fried perfectly and the sauce was a wonderful thick combination of sweet and tangy. The other two dishes(a seafood+rice cake combination and a beef with vegetable) were alright, with their sauces carrying the dish. The service was very good, as we experienced no issues with water refills or other interactions, especially impressive as it was 11pm. The atmosphere was lively, as it's one of the few spots still open late, so I recommend this place for it's bustling cafe vibe.

Bad experience, waiter rush us to order and then threaten us about how little of a tip we gave him. Like who would do that...

The appeal of Chi Cafe is that it's open until 2am. You're likely not going to get anything better if you're craving Chinese food during demon hours than this place. With its large, expansive menu and offerings for typical Cantonese Chinese food you're likely to find a dish that will suit everyone here. In terms of overall quality I will say this is in line with most other Chinese places in the Chinatown area--it's not mind blowing by any means but also will definitely satisfy all your Chinese food cravings.
